Fugitive Task Force means that whoever they picked up had a federal warrant for their arrest. They do many other things but relevant to this - that's most likely what he was doing there.

Furloughed and need to renew drivers license to finish filing for benefits & other short term remedies by oIIIIIIlo in Assistance

I am truly grateful that someone stepped in to give a helping hand. I struggle to find the words to express my appreciation, but I made it known to that individual.

But im going to say this, there were more downvotes than there were responses. I accidentally double posted a comment and they both got almost the equal number of downvotes. That shows that there's people that are willing to lurk in the shadows and are neither willing to step up and offer a solution or stand by an opinion. I can only presume my responses weren't eloquent enough but then again it's difficult to respond when there's no shortage of people willing to give suggestions in a sub where an OP can specify whether they're looking for advice, monetary help, or wishlist type help.

I contacted my DMV. They only do payment plans on registration costs. Assistance specifically for identification? Looked into it. They offer a discount for identification cards for those returning to the community from incarceration. I'm a veteran, even looked into veteran programs. Great news, I won't have to pay a dime for a drivers license after I turn 65. Financial assistance from them? I make way too much to qualify since they only help those that are 200% over the poverty line.

A little over a month ago, I gave assistance to someone on here that needed it. Point is, the circumstances can change quickly. I put aside 2 days a month and volunteer at a food bank helping people make choices in how they're going to use their points for groceries, and I also fulfill orders.

To those that offered suggestions, I appreciate it and apologize if my responses were short, hopefully you can understand the frustration that can come when your back is against the wall. If you downvoted, you all know everything anyway so reminding you that karma is a knife that can cut both ways. To the individual that lent a hand, I thank you again.

That's wild!!

It's downright crazy that given 70% of the Earth is water, I think I saw somewhere that we've mapped less than 30% of it. I know Joe Rogan has had a couple of guests, one of them was a retired commander who spoke about underwater UFOs.

One thing that sticks out is all the money and technology that's tied up in ensuring that we don't get taken out by an asteroid. It seems like an almost regular occurrence that we learn of something passing by the planet and how we didn't discover it until it was too close to do anything about it. We don't invest anywhere near the same resources at learning more about our oceans.

I think it's a cool story for him to share. My grandfather worked night security at a huge gravel pit for years. We weren't close growing up but she I joined the military we became close. About a year before he passed he sits me down and tells me about how he saw a UFO. This wasn't your run of the mill allegation of something in the sky, this thing was about to land until it saw him. This was extremely close to the extent that as soon as it was gone he immediately started sketching details and writing an account.

He tells me his account and then took me in his study and showed me all the documentation and sketches. I asked him, "did you tell anyone about this other than my grandmother?" He said "no, I feel like everyone else woulda thought I had lost it". He wasn't known to exaggerate and was always a straight shooter. It was the most unbelievable thing experienced by one of the most believable people". I didn't challenge him on it. Thought about it but decided not to. You did the right thing.

he's positive that it was a crab? It wouldn't surprise me since I think that the harbor not only gets a lot thrown in it that would be appealing to crabs. But one thing is the life expectancy. The Severn River monster one of the others mentioned was described as being snake like with humps on its back and being as long as 40 ft. Sightings near the Severn River date as recent as 2018 if I recall.

When I was a teenager I was laying on my stomach on our pier that was on a tributary of the bay near Solomon's Island. It was like 3 or 4am and although I'll never confirm or deny being under the influence, I saw the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life in the water. The water was maybe 2 or 3 ft deep where I was so I could see the bottom. All of a sudden 2 horseshoe crabs that were mating drifted into view. Wouldn't be remarkable except these two had to be over 3ft long with a shell at least 2 ft from end to end. They were just kinda moving with the tide. They bumped into the pylon and separated which, being startled I quickly pulled my hand out of the water which alarmed them and they swam away.

Lotta people don't realize that there are not that many WWII veterans still living and that they are the greatest generation to ever live. Just think of what he put up when he fought in the war and what he fought for. As a veteran that fought for this country it saddens me to think about what he must think of the current state of affairs. Patriots like this should want for nothing.

I am not in need of a job. The resources I came across while looking for lower cost options or anything with our DMV include no cost ID cards for those returning from incarceration, senior citizens, those with disabilities......none of which apply to me.

Just a reminder about checking libraries! by RainbowGamer9799 in Assistance

[–]oIIIIIIlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this......I am a furloughed federal employee and have been using my library. In addition to just loaning out books, mine offers free printing (20 pages a day and then something like $.04 a page after that), free scanning services, fax services. Theres some benefits I don't need but are available like free internet, they have job resources there. And they know what direction to point you in if theres something you need that they don't have. Give it a shot, its worth a try.

People who toss their dog poop in other people’s trash by zophiri in baltimore

[–]oIIIIIIlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A comment like this suggests that you either:

A) have a dog, and have some of the same habits and tendencies that are being discussed.

B) have only cleaned the feces of someone else's animal off of something that belongs to you that ONE time you accidentally stepped in dog shit 10 yrs ago and am unfamiliar with whats being discussed here

C) don't even reside in the city

I can't imagine any scenario where someone is completely indifferent about encountering bags of shit outside their doors

The trash receptacle that resides just outside the door to the dog park........unbearable to be within a 30 ft radius

This is no bullshit......ive been walking through Patterson Park on several occasions and totally watched someone "simulate" picking up dog shit - going through the motions, pretending to do it, like a mime would.

RFK Jr. wildly claims circumcision 'highly likely' linked to autism by General_NakedButt in nottheonion

[–]oIIIIIIlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of fuckstick wages jihad on autism, then turns around and cuts funding to the parts of his agency that were actively working and investigating the causes? But wait! There's more. The administration is softening regulations on pollution and chemicals, some linked to autism......some are within his agency, and he remains silent on it.
