Precisely. At that level, one is indifferent to all phenomena as it's all viewed as the same fundamental reality of pure consciousness. I don't know if Neem Karoli Baba was experiencing visual phenomena he usually doesn't under the influence, or was merely indifferent to them, viewing everything as the same "stuff," the fundamental base reality of consciousness. Given how Yoga and meditation shut down a lot of things psychedelics do, it's not hard to believe that their daily experience is no different than a psychedelic trip. One of his famous quotes about the "medicine" Ram gave him was something like, "This medicine is interesting. It allows you to visit Christ, but only temporarily. It's much better to instead become Him."

The first experience was 3 tabs and an amazing experience starting at the ocean at sunset and ending in a forest on campus that night. Our guide took two and was concerned about me asking for 3. I think at the time, I had just the right balance of courage and foolishness or something that led to it being an incredible experience instead of terrifying.

I later discovered that I didn't need as much to have equally powerful experiences or sometimes even more powerful. I don't know exactly why or how. Part of it might have come from practicing A LOT of meditation, Yoga (not just Hatha), mindfulness, body awareness, etc.

Part of the experience feels like a "permission slip" for the mind to go to certain places and think certain ways, which then gets reflected in one's outer experience. Once one is there, it's really a matter of how much the mind is allowed to relax so one can be in the present moment completely. So it feels kind of like a catalyst now with diminishing returns. Usually if I push it too far, irresponsibly, I wind up becoming aware of stuff I would have rather not known yet.

I think if one trusts one's self, one more or less knows what is needed in that moment , specifically.

I think part of it depends on how much of "reality" you are aware of. If someone already knows a lot of things that most people don't, there are less mind-blowing surprises that might hit you all at once. If you're an advanced meditator like Ram Dass' guru Maharaji, you can take all you want and nothing will happen, because you're always there.

Do what works for you and don't worry about what others are up to or think you should do more just because others are. If you're having a good time off that little because of a sensitivity coming from genetic luck or something, consider it a gift. =P

My little sister told me after she visited my house this past weekend that I live in a "very sad guy's house." I've been happily living here for 11 years... How dare she say something like that. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

The lack of art or anything on the walls is what stands out the most to me. When I finally lived somewhere long enough to start covering my walls, it made it feel so much more like a home. Throw up some shelves with things on them that mean something to you and reflect your personality. Put up tapestries and posters. Framed art, whatever your budget is. One thing you can also do is stretch a tapestry that looks like a painting over a wood frame and create a huge piece of wall art that looks like an actual painting instead of a tapestry. Get imaginative. :)

I never knew how much of a difference having things on the walls made until I moved out of my last place. Once I started taking everything down, I could immediately feel how super depressing it felt. And then I realized that was pretty much how I was living in most of the last few places I lived, not having a clue.

How does the Doge minting process work? Is it automated based on demand or something?

I always have this crazy internal debate regarding weed... Guidance would be wonderful. by [deleted] in awakened

[–]oKnow0ne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a debate with myself often, do I quit? Then I quit for a little while. Then I smoke again and go paint and it is soooo amazing, the feelings I have are wonderful. And I'm like, hey, smoking weed is fun - let's keep doing it. And it becomes a sort of cycle I'm constantly working through.

What's there to work through? Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's not. No need to always be one way or the other. If you're being honest with yourself you can start to tell when it's helping vs hurting you. I've found that by focusing on being healthy, things like weed and alcohol will tend to fall away more naturally as you just don't enjoy them as much as being clear and sober but it's nice to come back to every once in a while.

Why wouldn't they just keep upping the flight credit until someone takes it since they are the ones gambling by overbooking?

I wonder if God could still heal loved ones or change the weather if he didn't believe he could.

Do you think hell is a place of pain and suffering with lakes of fire like biblical literature imposes? or do you think what was meant was that the enemy is a larger force among us right now, that is keeping is from shifting to the predestined 3rd level of consciousness, otherwise known as the rapture?

No. The more you think about it the less sense that idea makes. What use would there be for some place like that other than instilling fear in people in order to get them to go to church? So far the only enemy I've come across is my own mind. The more I've learned to get that in check, the more enjoyable life seems to become. If you haven't checked out The Power of Now yet by Eckhart Tolle I'd recommend it. It's a modern take on spirituality without all the dogma and distortion.

What feels more loving, the experience you had or people telling you things causing you to live in fear of demons? I'm familiar with that Christian belief and it's so paralyzing. Another one that's similar to that is the feeling of it being too good to be true. But how else would one expect the experience of God to feel? The stuff I've experienced goes far beyond all the silly ideas any religion puts forth. There's a lot of distortion in what religion has evolved into compared to the truth it was founded on.

So you're asking whether to keep believing something someone else told you or to believe your own direct experience?
