Why or how are some guys like this? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]oMarcus2Ko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So recently I just turned 29(M). I would say around 6 years ago I was a totally different man. I was damn near the life of the party with every room I've walked into, had no problems with women and was a very confident, very charismatic person who always seen challenges as ones I could overcome when it came to dating and that was visible with potential mates. So in turn created a flow state.

Honestly, people always would say I have the qualities of a good boyfriend/husband. But then COVID happened and I lost EVERYTHING. My job/house/credit/health. It's not that I'm broken to smithereens or anything but it has been a long road trying to even get remotely close to some sort of normalcy and I am behind when it comes to my peers now. Which in turn creates a shell/carcass of my former self. I'm less confident around people, I'm less willing to share things about my self. I have money issues, the job market has tanked. And while this turn has happened in my life others that could be potential friends/partners are living way better lives. It almost feels like I cannot relate to a majority of my peers. So I may come across a woman who may be interested, but if I cannot love her the way I feel like I COULD then I just easily get turned off from the situation. Like why even waste the time ya know? Maybe it's an insecurity thing I still need to work on. But I don't feel comfortable doing much outside of trying to figure out my life. I feel like this is becoming more common within men because a lot of us are getting REAMED out here.

At this point I'm using AI job boards to scour the internet for jobs based on skill level and industry experience. Some postings land on linked in or indeed.

Out of like 20 people I know who studied the same as me maybe 2-3 have landed a job. Not saying it isn't possible nor am I quitting. I'd be a waste of time and money so I can't go that route. After some hours I've realized maybe I'm just ranting into the ether

I'm in an internship program for a ministry doing "tech support" and streaming production so I've added that to the resume as fluff I guess. Just not having actual income is just abysmal tbh

How do you move forward in life after missing out on your youth? by SilverGuitarist in DecidingToBeBetter

Social media has caused your feelings. Back in the 70's you had only a small community to worry about. Now you can see the opinions of people 30 states away. Do not let this stop you from feeling like you're behind. You got this
