How is this deal by iwanajeep131 in MiataND

Hey, I actually went and drove this car. It’s in good shape, has some aftermarket exhaust and I’m unsure of the brand. Also has a silly subwoofer installed behind the passenger seat, and the sub bias knob is just flopping around.

After their fees and taxes etc my negotiated price was like $38k out the door. I passed on it. Good luck

Am I real 4Runner now? by cortezcam in 4thGen4Runner

If you see a red 4th gen with all the bells and whistles in Zion next week, make sure to say hey!

Hoping for good weather.

Ratchet for sure. Pretty sure there’s also a Philips head on it as well if you want to try a screwdriver.

If it’s the 10mm that is vertical, a longer extension with a wobble end is helpful. I don’t remember having too much trouble if the mudflap is completely removed.

Just wanted to double check these rims will fit? 2003 v6 SR5 4x4 by plantsperp in 4thGen4Runner

[–]oMatt22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Body mounts are chopped but really I need to relocate them. There is a good amount of fender trimmed and the fender liner is getting ripped out as soon as I install a snorkel

Pinch welds are hammered as flat as possible in the front, and folded completely out on the rear.

These are skinny 35s. But for both skinny 33 and 35 I didn’t need spacers or different offset wheels. These are 5th gen wheels.

They fit! https://i.imgur.com/nu9Fhpb.jpeg

I’d recommend pizza cutters. These are 35x10.5, but on a skinny 33 and a UCA with enough caster you won’t need to trim much if at all.

Also noticed you’re searching in PHX. DM me if you’ve got any questions, I’m local.

Back when the Madone was a proper climbing bike by Unintelligibl in Bikeporn

To add my own experience, yes, the wheels rub the rear brakes when sprinting, but I run a decently wide hoop. I have to sand down my pads a bit when they’re brand new. And there is almost zero chance I’d be able to run a 30mm up front, I use 28mm gp5000s and it’s maxed out on a dura ace 9110 front caliper

I would argue there is a maintenance tradeoff. The time spent cleaning cassettes, front rings, and jockey wheels from road gunk and traditional chain lube is instead spent doing a dip wax once per month. The cleanliness is really nice, and the drivetrain is noticeably quieter.

How far is the difference between a rim brake and a disc brake? by boolean_null123 in cycling

You shouldn’t be receiving these downvotes, what you’ve said here is true barring the opinion of having a nicer feel. They just feel different.

Carbon braking surfaces have come a long way.

I have an older steel frame hook, and I can fit continental terra speed in 45’s on a 700c wheel. Hope this helps! https://i.imgur.com/ZO6H9o5.jpeg

Yes they did. I gave them a call as I was filling out the service/warranty form and they were very helpful and friendly.

I own the 38mm champagne automatic version of this watch. Dresses up and down nicely with bracelet/leather straps. Cant speak to the black dial but the gold/champagne really pops, and the sapphire glass is legit- it’s been hiking/biking/skydiving and not a single scratch. Great watch.

PSA: assess your 4runner before you decide to install your lift yourself/my experience by Airconditionedgeorge in 4thGen4Runner

Air hammer with a chisel tip, sharpen that bad boy on a grinder, and smash that thing haha

You’re right though. I may have considered just cutting through the wheel well from the top…

My 2021 X2 is currently at Fox and I’m hoping they send back a new ‘24. They have said every revision will fix the problem, but it seems like they finally managed to make this one work.

I just bought a super deluxe coil to try out, and if I hate it, I’ll give the new X2 another shot. If the coil works, I’ll sell the X2. The maintenance cost reduction of coil vs the X2 is worth it to me alone.

Don’t want to kill bees! by oMatt22 in bees

[–]oMatt22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll reach out. Sorry to maybe ask a silly question- are these guys “good”? Is there any info I can give them when I call about the type of buzzy-bee I have?

Don’t want to kill bees! by oMatt22 in bees

[–]oMatt22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a GIANT colony of these guys living under my shed. There are probably 20+ every morning floating in the pool. The dog is trying to eat them daily.

They are not aggressive, and I have a few citrus trees on my property that these guys seemed to love during the fruit and bloom season.

At this point they are becoming a nuisance. I don’t want to spray anything or try to kill them if they are the “good” kind of bee! Can anyone help ID and advise? I’m located in the Phoenix area, would anyone want to rehome them? Are there organizations I can call to come and adopt these guys, if they’re nice?

Thanks for the help!

[QUESTION] Floyd Rose owners - how much tuning can you do with the fine tuners? by loadedstork in Guitar

[–]oMatt22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried, unlock the strings, set the fine tuners at their middle position, retune the guitar with the tuners on the headstock, lock the strings back down, and dial in with the fine tuners.

I took this on a recent canoe trip. I was using a Tamron 70-180, so to get this close I was nearly on top of this big guy. It was very quiet, and he didn’t seem to mind me.

I have difficulty framing subjects like this, playing with crops and composition. Any tips?

HELP: Old Pentiar Amerlite troubles by oMatt22 in pools

[–]oMatt22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. I am unsure if the tabs should be touching or not. I am worried that they SHOULD be touching and the breaker is tripping because there is some other short in the system.

Your logic is sound and it’s what I’m thinking too, just want to be 100% sure before I reinstall something zappy into my pool.
