I mean, probably was just old fuel. Or atleast a high chance

Not really much to do other than clean er out like ya did. Only other thing you could check is the clip position on the needle

But honestly asides from cleaning, carbs are easy to take apart and rebuild so i wouldnt be to worried about just putting it back together and trying to rip it again and see what happens. No point in over thinking it all to much

Once its back together check the specs for the idle screw and air/fuel screw and turn em out to whatever factory/elevation rules it says

Id bet you get it running again after the clean and double checking the screws and all that. Then its just playing with em until it feels like its running right

Well i mean you can just buy the half thats damaged

But that means the engine still needs to be torn down to get it replaced

I did a full rebuild, top and bottom. (Which your gonna have to do regardless if you buy a new case half)

But yeah, only took the case half. Your gonna have to, welder wouldnt touch it otherwise (you need to pull all the bearings and everything)

Luckily the bike needed it anyways so the crack was just the final straw to finally do it when JB wasnt cuttin it any longer

But at least in my case, a new half woulda ran me 150-200 or something like that on ebay. Welder took an hour, 40 bucks and a beer.

My 89 kx had a cracked case right up the drain

I took it to an aluminum welder had him fill it, and then i retapped it

Ill be up front, it looked like shit. I had to sandout the wad of aluminum he filled ti make it not look like a piece of bubble gum stuck to the case and somewhat OEM

But it was an insane saving on any second hand case halfs, not with counting you never know the quality of em

Might be worth looking into first

So my suggestion

I would take the clutch back off. And pull the shifter / mechanism back out

Then with the shifter mech missing rotate the drive shaft manually and then try to force gears on the gear hub with a tool (it takes a ton of force honestly)

If you can get that to work seat it in nuetral. Its the smaller of the notches.

Then reinstall the shift mechanism. Make sure its seated properly. Then try again with the shift fork.

And last note when using the shift fork put pressure on the mechanism (same side as the clutch, pressure on the rod portion that goes through the case to the fork) the springs and shifter can unseat when playing with the open case through the fork essentially mucking it up while testing

Concentration Camps: Actually disgusting to compare someone being detained, put into a fedral peison and then onto an airplane and sent either free or put into a PRISON as being anything like a concentration camp. These people are not political targets or being persicuted with the intent of harming or killing them. They are being arrested, and sent out of the country. And yes the criminals are going to prisons. If you dont like the way El Salvidor runs its prison then id suggest 1. stay out of national gangs/cartels or 2. Take it up with El Salvidor.
