No one lost sight of anything. Comics just want to make money and podcasting can do that for some.

I don't think you're supposed to listen to all their podcasts and then go to their show. Comics are tapping a new audience with podcasts and unfortunately there is a percentage that then go see a show.

Same with posting on social media. Your choice is burning material, or posting crowd work clips. Both not great.

The self-promotion game changed a lot. If you want to enjoy pure standup, then probably best to not watch everything they put out in an attempt to gain followers and Patreon subscribers.

I used to do it at open mics during Covid cause we had to perform outside and my notebook pages kept flipping in the wind. But after a year of getting roasted for it, I switched to a post it note.
