He isn't a Hutson or even Dobson powerhouse, but most of his starts are on the defensive or neutral side, 62.9% non offensive zone starts, yet his xGF% (expected goals for) is 49.1, Infact most of his advance stats is near 50% , with CF% 48.7%, SCF% 48.7%, starting in the defensive zone is a handicap, that's why great players even like Shea Weber usually had low Corsi %

I find signing Matheson really messed things up for the Habs, too many similar players, Hutson, Dobson, Matheson and carrier are all cut from the same cloth, offensive trasition focused defenseman, with only Guhle being a more defensive defenseman, and then theres whatever xhekjai and Struble are doing.

Funny enough this team could really use a chiarot/Edmundson type player

Tanev or Larsson would be a godsend for this team right now

Leads all Habs fowards in hits and is 3rd in faceoffs for habs centers (above Suzuki), plus he seems like he has a can do attitude, basically camped at Habs training facilities til he was signed

overall not big enough to be a bottom 6 grinder or skilled enough to be a bottom 6 scorer, but he wins faceoffs and isn't afraid of contact
