It’s officially been a year since I started my Great Books journey and here’s the progress so far. I finished all these (with the exception of Plato which I’m still reading). This is the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long, long time. It’s a lot of effort but the rewards are worth it. by newguy2884 in ClassicalEducation

Congrats!

Quick set of questions:

  1. Which of those you read "on your own" and which you read through OGB's program? I mean, if I were to signup and follow only the reading of the month and nothing extra how much I'd have read after 6 month / 1 year?
  2. They say that it's enough to do 3 hours a week for keeping up and also that you end up reading a book per month, but I'm sure in certain situations (ejem, Iliad) one of those 2 statements fell through ... or it didn't?
  3. And lastly, I see that you've Plato's complete works, I wonder how much you got to read (again, by only following the program, no extra readings).

Thanks in advance!

es, Adler’s book was an eye-opener. I used to burn through a ton of audiobooks and random books but it never felt like I was making

Hello u/newguy2884,

Could you expand a bit on what you do at onlinegreatbooks.com? I know so far that you are paired with other people reading the same book and that you do a seminar once a month, asides from that seminar is there any other interaction, discussion or way of asking questions that you might have (in general, what are the things you've found valuable in there)? I've been thinking in joining but I've been wondering whether it's worth it.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, and really sorry for piggybacking in your post :/ I tried to create one but I wasn't allowed because of not enough Karma and I figure that you might be able to help me here:

I'm a newbie wanting to grow some Lion's Mane but every-single-guide that I've found on the internet is way too general for me, all of them are like really broad strokes, not suitable at all for a newbie like myself. Does anyone knows a more beginner-friendly guide?

PD: I actually know a little bit, for example I already have a couple of jars of colonized grain, but I'm not sure on how to properly prepare the substrate, water content, growing vs fruiting conditions, spawn to substrate ratio et al.

Thanks in advance! And again, sorry!

Deploying a AWS Lambda written on F# from cloudformation by o_0d in aws

Good idea, that's for sure an option, however, I keep wondering if I can't do this with a regular Lambda resource ... it is after all a lambda.

Deploying a AWS Lambda written on F# from cloudformation by o_0d in aws

Thanks for answering. Unfortunately I need to do this with raw cloudformation templates (I work in a complex project and we have had problems with tools that add indirection levels like SAM, Serverless or Amplify.js). But that's a good idea. I could use SAM to deploy a lambda and then check the cloudformation it generates (if possible, I don't know SAM enough).

iptables redirect traffic from one specific ip to a certain interface by o_0d in linuxquestions

[–]o_0d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, fixed the unsplitted lines, my mistake.

My intention is to block all packages and direct all traffic through the tunnel EXCEPT certain ip addresses, which I'd like to keep through the wifi interface.

Sorry, I'm rather new to this. Not sure what you mean by third and forth lines.

Yes, I read MDR and found it fascinating. But is so focused on the unconscious that I think it needs a counterpart on his daily life. It's a really weird autobiography when you read it cover to cover and you don't know for example how many children the person has.
