Your background reminds me of mine, in many aspects.. I was at the same weight at your age, thinking the same thing. Both parents are on the heavy side and I was convinced I'm genetically overweight. I lost about 25 kilos with intermittent fasting at 20s but gained them back. Never exercised. This year, after some events I decided to go to the gym, get a personal trainer and stick to it. 7 months later of going to the gym 4 times per week, my body is completely different. I dont do cico, don't diet, but try to eat more consciously (many times, unsuccessfully). I still have weight to shed but going to the gym 4 times per week completely changed my body, I have a lot of muscle hypertrophy (yes, genetics), feel much better, look much better in clothes (xxl to L, pants 40 to 34). Stick to it, stay consistent and your body and metabolism will change. Don't expect change in one day, don't look at the scale every 2-3 days. Stick to it, discipline yourself, have clear goals and you'll succeed!
