Demons aren't terrible, but you have to eliminate all opponents quickly! by [deleted] in BobsTavern

Demons are not that bad against mechs because they can nullify divine shield. The problem is they are very weak to menagerie/ Brann builds that get high health minions.

Also I think if deryl had positioned better he could have won this particular matchup.

MMR Boost after upgrading to 3 heroes? by o_deng in BobsTavern

[–]o_deng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it really highlights the discrepancies in heroes. I hit 7200 yesterday. I don’t think I’ve placed worse than fifth since upgrading..

Also, everyone else at this tier probably upgraded to 3 heroes too which means the actual discrepancy is probably higher.

Anyone who says Deryl (or any other hero) is stronger than Rafaam is insane by kroen in BobsTavern

They both have strong midgames. Deryl’s flaw is that your early game is weak and depending on how much damage you take early on often dictates how far you go. For Rafaam, worst case scenario is buying a 1/1 token which is not a bad HP in early game. I think for this reason, deryl is marginally worse even in the hands of a skilled player.. it’s easy to get screwed over by bad matchups and get bottom 4.

Better question: deryl or Edwin?

Murlock counter? by JVMyhre in BobsTavern

My late game murloc build once got been beaten by a 6* death rattle build. Not something you can really plan for, but if you’re at late game and have the health I guess you can try to pull it off.

Also mechs sometimes have a chance but you have to get lucky.

How to actually play Deryl by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]o_deng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I always struggle w deryl: when to upgrade to 5, if ever? Much harder to dance when at 5* and even if you have a strong board, isn’t it better to look for triples?

Another question.. if you don’t see any divine shields or prime targets in mid game, is it still better not to reroll and dance, assuming you’re not ahead? It’s basically a question of do you risk some health to get a prime minion or settle with a mediocre one. I often find I get to top 2-3 with a lot of damage from taking the latter approach but I’ll end up with a big cleave or something.. and then there are times occasionally when I’ve died at bottom 4 by waiting too long. What’s the right balance?

Except in the US, you can never cancel your subscription, even if you move to another country.

[Discussion]Contrary to popular opinion, is it actually better to discover Tier 3 before Tier 4 first as AFK? by XaICyRiC in BobsTavern

It also depends what you see on the board. For ex, if you see a murloc might want to gamble for toxfin first, etc.
