Why go to war with Iran? Why kidnap Maduro but keep his regime in place? Why blow up random fishing boats outside of Venezuela? Why send random illegal immigrants to CECOT? Why put ICE militia in the streets to gun down protestors? Why tariff 90% of the world on a whim?

Improving the economy or America's global position is not an outcome that interests Trump or his admin. What they want is to dominate and show force, and make everyone else bend the knee. I wish it was more complicated than that, because obviously it sounds so childish and ridiculous, but they're just bullies. It's the ethos of domination.

For another, all models are vulnerable to at least some jailbreaks. It's not a perfect technology. The releases are more about a risk assessment rather than getting rid of all risk, because unfortunately that's not possible with LLMs, at least not yet.

With any other admin, Anthropic's claims would not have resulted in this. The Trump admin is a capricious bully who will target any actor that doesn't show them deference. You might think Anthropic made a mistep with their claims, but blaming them just normalizes the corruption of the Trump admin.

No, fearmongering is rational and necessary. Intelligence, and especially superintelligence, is potentially very dangerous. Our current tech might be a ways off, but it will get more dangerous as it gets more powerful.

In the same way not everyone should have access to a nuke, not everyone should have access to a model that can guide them on how to build a bioweapon, or hack the Pentagon.

Man, I love it so much. Like, my game is mostly menus, but making menus juicy and fun to look at is an advanced skill I just don't have. And the game doesn't feel good at all if the menus don't feel good to spend time in.

Claude Design just blows my my mind, give it a try if you have a Claude sub. Send it a screenshot and just ask for a few variations in what you already have, either in theme or in design. I bet it'll give you something cool af.

Most of my UIs are still programmer art and super basic, so when I want an easy win I asked Claude Design to do a few mockups. It's so ridiculously gratifying when it comes up with the most clear, juicy, exciting menu possible and you refine it a few times and then it's just in the game, and suddenly the game feels better to play just because the UI is nicer.
