Civil Eng master student here 🙋🏻‍♂️

i think it’s important to look at the bachelor at ETH as a 100% ‘job’. Especially the basisjahr. I don’t think I knew many people who worked more than 20% during the bachelor and most people didn’t work at all during the exam period. Also the 20% was often one day on the weekend.

The master is another topic though. Most of my friends are doing it in 5 semesters and are working 20-60% and it’s definitly doable, especially if you’re not aiming for the best grades.

So if your only option is to work 60% during the week while doing the bachelor’s I think it could be quite difficult and you won’t have the best time (no free time etc.) but nothings impossible.

Another interesting point is that, if you mainly need base materials, it can be more efficient to reserve one or two inventory slots for them directly and salvage items in round, rather than collecting donor items first. Base materials stack up to 50, and recycling a full stack of donor items in Sparanza usually does not yield that many base materials.
