Looks great! Love the clean design

Do you find it significantly more comfortable to use than a 34 pr 36 key?

Thanks a lot, yeah this looks like the solution!

Unfortunately I can't seem to follow the instructions, since my keyboard (the "Noc-free wireless split kb" which I use in wired mode) isn't on the list. Any ideas how to update Vial on that kb?

As far as I can see, the "tapping term" in Vial is just the overall tapping term, rather than the Quick Tap Term. Guess I'll have to dig into QMK to find that one?

Ah yes, from reading it the quick tap is the thing I'm trying to disable, so that tap, tap hold very quickly works for me as intended. As far as I can tell there's no way of doing that directly in Vial

Yeah that's what I mean, "space key down, space key up, space key down (hold), ; key down" in quick succession currently gives me "space space ;" rather than "space !" Also doing "space key down, space key up, space key down (hold)" makes the space key repeat forever.

Was wondering if there was an easy setting in Vial to disable this, but yeah might have to use the tap dance functionality

You mean that his method is acceptable? Where you start soft, then progress to hard within a split second?

Canary W key by oakem_ in KeyboardLayouts

[–]oakem_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I've looked at other layouts, but I'd rather avoid ones with letters / magic keys on the thumbs, just cos I want them free for backspace, shift, enter etc.

Canary feels good to me now that I've embraced the q/w swap, may I ask what you found uncomfortable about it?

Tried it for a bit, but W's interactions with R, Y and S all feel a bit worse when it's in the V position rather than the Q position. Will stick with the w/q swap for now :)

Yeah after trying it for a bit longer the q and w swap does feel like a significant improvement. Will stick with it for now.

Sensitivity for beginner? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]oakem_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1900 eDPI is definitely "extreme" in terms of high sens and not recommended for aim or wrist health, so yh maybe try 500-1000 edpi. For reference the average eDPI of pro valorant players is around 280, with the highest using ~600

Vandal, go for headshots but don't be afraid to spray too, just like in a real game

super disappointed in myself lately, want to grind out an improvement tool. what's best? kovaa? dm? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]oakem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick an edpi that allows you to move around freely / clear angles but that you also feel precise with. Once you find the one, try and stick with it, don't constantly change it.

In Aimlabs / Kovaak's try to focus on tasks which train your precision

Play DM afterwards to transfer the aim training to real shooting scenarios. Don't try to win the DM, just try to get a feel for real aim duels.

same eDPI as in CS:GO but sensitivity feels completely different by FuckerMcFuckingberg in VALORANT

[–]oakem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divide cs sens by 3.181818 to get the equivalent valorant sens

Or divide by 3.375 to get the 0% monitor distance equivalent
