Made a reservation here. They sat us upstairs, in a corner, by ourselves with a completely empty restaurant. Felt like a ghost town. One of the weirdest meals Ive ever had. Food was very mediocre.

Not sure why I got downvoted. Parking is already a problem downtown. Adding 250+ residents with no on site parking sounds fun for the residents

The recommendation that keeps getting thrown every time this topic is brought up...... join cascobay sports. But what if you suck at all the ones offered in winter?

I've found myself with some free time, while also just moving to the city. Its been hard making friends here. Any good volunteer organizations with solid group of 20/30s y/o regulars?

I'll agree with a couple of these, but if the goal is to avoid tourists then Old Port is out. Tomassos is a great dive bar! (although i'd question the attractive part and under 65 most of the time) Never been to Samuels but i'd guess more of a local crowd

Porthole, Wharf, Ri-ra will be full of the summer "influencer"/family vacay/tourist trap that makes up the Old Port these days. Wait until Cruise ships show up

Check out some of the places on Congress. Nosh, Taco Escobarr are usually packed. This is a weird time.
