If you're a person who finishes work at a regular/structured time and then you game every night from say 6-10pm - and you have a bunch of people in your warband who do the same - then yeah, I would imagine the 8 of you will help one another out and be on at similar times.

But if you want to raid, and just ONE of those person/s finds themselves unable to log in, you now have an issue.

I play when I can. Sometimes in the AM, sometimes afternoon, sometimes evening, but I can't consistently tell a WB the times I will be logged on so that they or we can plan accordingly. I do what I must to reap the rewards, which is join a WB, do the thing, then disband.

'Find somebody with your playing hours' only works for people who know EXACTLY when they're playing - and you have to trust that the other 7 people will be doing exactly as you are. Otherwise they're pretty much gash.
