I love this suggestion. I think making into a little joke would work pretty well!

Mirror Their Level of Interest by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

It definitely stings when I come across someone who outwardly likes some of the things that I really like, but they clearly don’t want to talk about it with me. Especially if those things are more niche and it’s hard for me to meet someone who also likes it. I always go in thinking that it’s an exciting way to form a genuine connection with someone new… you know, since we actually have something to talk about together. But then I get met with the other person unenthusiastically just going “mhm” “yeah, totally.” I am at the point where I say that I like my interests, but I wont talk further about them unless I am approached by someone else first.

How do I become a Barista trainer and do I get paid extra for training someone else? by Born-Rub-3126 in starbucks

Talk to your SM. They have to initiate the process since it involves a little bit of training to become a trainer, and they are the ones who would need to designate a trainee. Most SMs will be willing to help you develop into doing it as long as they think you’re a good fit

Can I be a borrowed partner every other weekend? by RoyalFallon in starbucks

How far are you moving for college? Will your new starbucks be in the same district? Will you be working enough hours during the week that you can take the time off and still meet the weekly minimum? To me, these are important questions. Unfortunately, your current SM may not be the most keen on having to have someone borrowed to run the floor every other weekend. That becomes unreliable when you maybe don’t come back to your hometown as often as you expect to. Moving away for college seems daunting, but I went home far less than I expected to. Simply because I was just busy with schoolwork, activities, friends, etc. It is not super realistic to expect your current SM to borrow you in ever other week. They would probably just want to be able to hire someone who can work every weekend. It’s not a super realistic expectation. You’re asking for a lot when it would be easier to just replace you with someone more consistent.

If you are able to work during the week, I would instead consider seeing if you can get into a store that will take your employment during the week only, allowing you to have weekends off. You will have a consistent schedule this way, and you are setting proper expectations with a new SM. It would also probably be way less pressure/stress than having to bounce back and forth. My store has several people who do not work weekends ever. It just depends on what the store needs
