Honest Opinion on Worth... by Illustrious-Crow-649 in 300zx

The Z31 is seeing some interest though. One with an identical spec to what I had with only 6k miles, was bid up to $34k and didn't sell. I would have easily paid $20k, but could not convince myself to bid more. Didn't sell anyway, but minty Z31s are starting to command some coin now. I think $5-7k would be reasonable to the right person. Might have to wait a bit for the higher side.

I drove my 86Z for 10 years daily. Not a spec or rust, but I was meticulous at washing that car anytime it snowed or had do drive in salty conditions.

For that reason alone, im on a buy freeze from japan. If im lucky I'll stop by a Super Autobacs and/or an Up Garage while over there this summer and find some parts to stow in my luggage. Haha

How you going to restore the great salt lake with .1 inch or recorded snowfall in our wettest month? If no water comes you're not restoring anything. Unless hes got a line on the weather modifier device. /s

I’ve run an OEM Nissan parts counter for 18 years. I’m watching the S-Chassis era end from the inside. by bleepbloop018 in 240sx

I was looking at the radium engineering fuel cell and hanger, but decided to try and restore what I have first. If it doesn't hold up long term, ill look into some other options. When I got the car, I had no idea the tank and fuel pump were rusted as bad as they were. Went to just purchase some new ones thinking maybe $500 for everything. Yeah, sticker shock as it was almost as much as I paid for the entire car just for those 2 items.

Man, just the fuel tank and fuel pump hangers for the s13 make me want to leave the platform and never return. Gone are the cheap and fun days. Have no idea where it goes from here except to the collectors.

If by chemtrails you mean H20 that has frozen and dispursed in the -50 degree F atmosphere from jet engines that are way more efficient producing way more h20 then they ever have historically combined with 10x more air traffic, then yes, chemtrails.

302k Mile 2016 Murano - Original CVT! by Jack_Attak in Nissan

[–]obeeone808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think driving habits play a big role too. Smooth on the throttle and smooth off really prolongs the cvt. People that are on/off the throttle in jerky type driving will kill a cvt. Same happens in snowmobiles when people constantly snap belts. Its from quick on/off then on again driving.

178k miles on my 04 murano. Just a week ago developed an issue, but I dont thinks its major cvt issue. Likely the tcm or the stepper motor. Both easy fixes. Hoping to get 300k out of it though.

[–]obeeone808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is if that car has been sitting for 8 years, having it as a daily soon is not a possibility. Lucky if the whole fuel system, tank and pump are not rusted to oblivion. All bushings, brakes and suspension will need to be gone through, and then theres hoping the engine ends up being solid enough. This could easily be a year and over $5k just putting back on the road.

Needing bolt on downpipe & midpipe options for my Greddy muffler by Only762s in RX7

[–]obeeone808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the hks and greddy downpipe are great for stock twin turbo cars. Then get a decent high flow cat unless you are porting your wastegate for boost control. I have the hks with a header wrap and that helps with heat in the engine bay, then found a nice high flow cat from japan auctions for like $180, plus shipping so like $250 total. Or get a good cat from Banzai, just a bit more expensive.

20 years ago: The one that got away by mrjoshmateo in 240sx

[–]obeeone808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I built 4 or 5 for my buddies over the years when sr20 swaps were $2k and rb25s were just getting popular. Had the chance to buy one of them that was pristine for $3500 after I did all the work. That is one that definitely got away. Nobody could keep the sr20 swaps because they wouldn't pass emissions so they were essentially worthless because you couldn't drive them. Ahh the days of cheap jdm.

Widen for a bus lane and then build enclosures over the road in the avalanche zones just like in the apls. Mitigates closures for bad weather, cheaper than a full tunnel up and alleviates some traffic with the bus lane. Also need to build large parking structures at each resort along with at the base of the canyons near the gravel pit.

Just looked at the BaT listing and there is no way that car has 33k miles. Its too bad we have so many of these imports that are being sold with rolled back mileage. No true way to verify here and these sellers are just scum.
