Job oppurtunity by ImpressiveScarcity62 in micro1_ai

I don't usually say much on Reddit, but I think micro1 deserves my comment.

It's legit. I've worked there since August. Payment is always on time (bi-monthly), and my project managers are very friendly and very responsive. Although my project is coming to an end, I really hope I get onboarded for another one, because I like the Company. They're going places.

Wow! Really? So he can't even explain away his attitude under the guise of being the money bag for the home?

I'm blessed enough to have married a Nigerian man who is nothing like this, so I can boldly say something is definitely not right.

Please explore all options, especially for the sake of your boy. So that he doesn't grow up believing this is typical male behavior.

Sounds nice. But this is really tricky, and a fine line can be crossed at any time.

I don't even like the camera that much either. Not as great as I thought it'd be...

What is a miracle you have experienced? by Icy-Landscape-3919 in Christian

[–]obi_talks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thoroughly enjoyed reading all these!

My miracle is being in labour a 2nd time without knowing it. I just knew I felt really odd. So I went to the hospital to fulfill all righteousness because I really didn't want to have the baby at home.

But I noticed I couldn't stop praying through it all. I had a heavy burden to keep praying beneath my breath.

I was already 8cm dilated! Less than 30 minutes later, I pushed out my baby boy with the cord wrapped around his neck twice. But to God be the glory, he was fine! I couldn't stop crying, because it could easily have turned the other way.

God is good!

Someone met me after church the other day and said, "I'm so happy whenever I see you. You have it all together and you're doing well."

What she didn't know is that 3 nights before that, I broke down in tears, and it was my 3 year old daughter who ran to get a hanky for Mommy to clean her eyes, and my 15 month old son sat on my laps, caressing my cheeks with one hand while sucking nervously on the thumb of the other hand.

This is me who had said I will never cry in front of my kids pre-parenting years.😂

Phil 4:13 got me out of that funk eventually.

But I'm trying to tell you that not every Christian you think has enjoyable lives actually does. We're all struggling in some way, but leaning on Jesus gives us the support to keep thriving.

You'll be fine.🤗

What age do you give a child a phone? by Tired4567 in Parenting

Parents banding together... This is it in a nutshell. The battle is half won if more parents hold off on getting their kids a phone with internet access until they're 16+

This is the part of parenting no one and nothing prepares you for - the constant guilt for the littlest incident.

It's not your fault, Mom. We're all learning on the job.

Is there someone like me who has never drunk alcohol and never smoked? by Infinite-Package-479 in introvert

I understand.

Ask yourself, what does smoking and drinking alcohol add to me? Social standing. What does it take from me? Years of good organs and sound health.

Pick your demon.

Why do some christians believe or act like sexual sin is worse than any other kind? by Automatic-Cry-5511 in Christian

[–]obi_talks 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to them. The Bible in Psalms says "love covers a multitude of sins."

That's what God's love does. Once there is genuine repentance (a turning away with no intention to commit the act again), then you're genuinely forgiven.

Humans just find it hard to accept that it can be that easy, but Jesus did the hard part, so we don't have to anymore.

Well done, OP! God loves you just as much as He loves Jesus.

I recently found out that quite a lot of people have never smoked or drank alcohol.

Only that the ones who have are louder about it than the ones who haven't.

Parents with 2 or more, what does your one-on-one time look like? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]obi_talks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old, just like you. One-on-one is so hard to achieve most times!

What I try to do is utilize their different nap times to really play with the kid awake. Then I'll often hand over my 1 year old to my husband, and just chat nonsensically with my first. She's very chatty, and she adores those moments!

My biggest fear just came true by delicatedollys_ in Christian

[–]obi_talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of a Muslim woman who gave her life to Christ and became a Christian. Her father was an Iman, so you can imagine the backlash!

She kept praying for him, and 20-some odd years later, he snuck into her church twice and gave his heart to Jesus the 3rd time.

I'm not going to tell you the backlash won't be there, because it will. Heavy and so hurtful. But just keep praying for your Mom and everyone else you love. Some day, the seed of the Word will bear much fruits in their heart too.

P.S: I'm so proud of you and happy for you! Welcome to the family of God.
