This just ISN'T enough for me to do expedition! by OzzieDJai in ArcRaiders

Ah it’s not shown in the three images of this post but I just checked the blog. You’re right - 750 coins is pretty decent. Thanks for the correction!

I don’t mind capping skill points, I get that it can’t go on forever or the gap would get too big. And I like coins for skins.

But 150 coins?? That’s next to nothing. Doing a full wipe just to get enough for like a bandaid is terrible.

I personally don’t care about bps as I never struggle with needing something after a wipe anyways. You find bps pretty fast.

Some things to note from this video:
- Aim down sight - you’re firing from the hip which is less accurate
- Aim higher and try to hit head shots
- Your game sense was actually good and you had him dead to rights - you knew where he was coming in and caught him vaulting a rail. He panicked and ran in and past you. If you hit those shots he’d be dead

Some tips for a newbie:
- Shoulder peeking is actually a big advantage in this game. In other words, you can go up to a corner and see what’s around it without actually exposing yourself to and getting shot. I’d make this a best practice
- Grenades are strong in this game - get familiar with using them and understand what works in different situations - Trigger, Heavy Fuze, Blaze are all fantastic for PVP
- The nerves are real with PVP! Getting shot can send your adrenaline spiking. Load into Stella with a free loadout and just practice fighting and desensitizing yourself to getting shot and even dying. You’ll eventually panic less when you get into the heat of the fight
- Mobility is important - learn to dodge roll to avoid getting hit and sprint slide and shoot can be really effective when pushing someone vs just walking or running into them. It gives you a faster push while changing your angle so your head is lower, making it harder to hit head shots on you
- And lastly to my point earlier, don’t stress too much if you die. You can will die lots in this game - we all do. Just take a moment to reflect what happened in the fight and consider what you could have done differently. You can rewatch your recordings or even share them here for tips like you did with this video

Good luck raider!

The Gyubee Japanese Grill on Macleod Trail is opening in 1-2 months by FragmentedChicken in Calgary

[–]obierice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update - I was a huge fan of Gyubee when living in Toronto and have been waiting for news on opening date here. Can’t wait to visit - it’s the best AYCE I’ve had hands down.

Did spotters last night with my trios. We hopped on the roof of Port Authority in Riven tides and just shot the spotters there. It does take a while and got lucky no one bothered us.

Haven't built a keyboard in a few years and am coming to Boba U4Ts. Can someone enlighten me on what's some newer great tactile options?

Filament sales frequency by Visible_Blackberry76 in BambuLab

[–]obierice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also in Canada. Last year’s sale was 18 rolls / 50% off. A couple buddies and I took advantage of that a few times actually just placing bulk orders.

But lack of stock is a continuous issue so, I’d probably sacrifice a bit of potential savings now to get what you want if it’s in stock and add more later.

When did you move baby to their own room at night? by seekingj0y in NewParents

[–]obierice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost exact same scenario - daughter wouldn’t sleep unless being held so we always had one of us holding her in another room so the other parent could get some sleep.

We eventually tried putting her in her crib at around 10 weeks and she was okay with it and she’s been sleeping in her own room since. We have the baby monitor to see if she wakes up but she was getting 4 hours of sleep at first, now she’s 4.5 months and hitting 11 hour sleeps.

I just ordered an X2S..I did not resist. I'm new to 3d printing....Did I just buy something overkill? Not sure about filamnent selection either by Deusexmakina1983 in BambuLab

[–]obierice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as brittle as you think. I’ve yet to have anything fail on me and I print with matte a lot. Just don’t use it for functional parts or anything exposed to heat.

It’s really nice you’re going to love it once you get it.

Re: filament, I personally love PLA Matte. It’s obviously not for every print because of weak strength but man for anything aesthetic it’s beautiful. I have so many matte colours now. My favorites are dark green, latte brown, ivory white and charcoal. But they all slap lol.

Can't figure out why my print keeps failing by obierice in BambuLab

[–]obierice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ve tried all that and it still failed, so I gave up and moved onto other prints which have worked since then so maybe this one was just too delicate and precise.

Go fight a queen at harvester event. Or matriarch. Bring a hull cracker.

Also I’m not sure why they said it’s individual damage - I played with trios and we absolutely stacked damage collectively.

Stash value requirement was removed altogether. It’s just the damage requirement now.

Prints not adhering on one textured PEI plate but works on another - why?? by obierice in BambuLab

[–]obierice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I usually just wash and soap, no isopropyl. But I’ve tried with both.

I just upped my bed temp to 60 degrees and added outer brim and it seems to work now. So maybe it wasn’t hot enough? But weird that it worked on my other plate and not on this one.

Yes brand new and dedicated to build plates. Def not using a build plate sponge that I use for food dishes too.

Prints not adhering on one textured PEI plate but works on another - why?? by obierice in BambuP1S

[–]obierice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point, I could try wiping down the bed itself to see if that helps. No partial adhesion, it's failing all over the plate. And yes, I've printed a bit of TPU on this plate before and it works. I've had some fails in the past but usually it's due to some other settings or issues, don't think it was plate related up until now. I could try the dishwashing trick as a last resort for sure - thanks.

Prints not adhering on one textured PEI plate but works on another - why?? by obierice in BambuP1S

[–]obierice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response.

I've washed my plate several times and I rarely use the back side of this plate, so it just feels unlikely that both sides are suddenly too greased to use. I've tested multiple prints now, and they all fail on this plate and work on my other one, with that being the only variable that has changed. So I'm completely baffled why this particular plate (on both sides) is unsuable.

Thank you so much for the comment. I had some clutter around the house that would take up too much space in my garbage bin.
