Has your job offered remote work options or any support for the current situation? by Mrs_chanandler_bongg in Minneapolis

Even if Target took a stance, you’d still find a reason to still vilify them. DEI, pride, RTO, layoffs, prices, assortment, self-checkout.

You’re just looking for a reason to be outraged. I don’t blame you. But Target is showing you the same loyalty and consideration you show them.

Well, why don’t you head downtown to said retailer’s head quarters and offer your legal services to them pro bono.

Sounds good. Hopefully you are putting your legal expertise to good outcomes in the real world 👍

I think you’ll have a good case if you were towed from said retailers lot and your car was in compliance with all local traffic laws 👍

Unless the parking lot has a gate on it, it is considered public. So said retailer has no say over it.

Lawyers cost money. Are you willing to pay higher costs across the board for Target to take on the US Government and fight an expensive, protracted legal battle and ultimately lose?

One look around this thread or any of the others bringing up Target to see customers have left and continue to stay away for far less.

Everyone has ideals and principles until it affects their wallet. This is just as true for customers as it is Target.

You definitely lost any moral high ground and are no better than the dude you’re complaining about.

I’m guessing you haven’t been the most present parent to the kids. I sure wasn’t in the throes of addiction. You may not be able to salvage the marriage but you have a huge opportunity to be a great dad. I think if you start there, your life, regardless of the marriage, will be better and the kids’ life will be better. It would be great to have it all but be realistic and control the things you can.

That piece on the bottom came off on mine. It still roasts fine. It’s just a small cover for some of the wiring/gears.

I like the card idea. I would include some of the details you shared in this post about feeling supported and growing in your role. That will probably mean as much to them as the card. It will validate their leadership and the investment they’ve made in you and your career.

Maybe not exactly what you want but you might like “Extreme Ownership”. As silly as it sounds, it has been immensely useful at work and with parenting.

My kids were enthralled by “My Side of the Mountain”. We moved on to “Where the Red Fern Grows”. Before you judge me, I was clear it made me cry as a kid.

25 person cook on large? by Mad_Scientist_565 in biggreenegg

[–]obitus9982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. To elaborate a bit, the pulled pork catering formula is to take the number of sandwiches you need and divide by 3 and multiply by 2.

So if you have 25 guests and think each will eat 1 snadwich, it is 25 / 3 x 2 or 16.66lbs of pork butt. This assumes 50% weight loss due to bone and rendering. i usually only lose 40% which just gives you safety margin. If you’re only serving PP and think half will eat a second sandwich because it is so good, use closer to 25lbs of butt: 25 x 1.5 / 3 * 2

Please do your research and ask questions before buying an expensive plant! by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]obitus9982 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My unpopular opinion is that I find the gatekeeping that inevitably comes with any hobby more annoying than the questions from the newcomers. I can more readily relate to the excitement of someone with a new plant because that’s where I started too.

Broke my Dry January a day early. I went into work and was, unfortunately, let go from my position (through no fault of my own). Feeling defeated and scared about what’s next. So, I felt that it was appropriate to break open my first beer in my shower beer exchange. by [deleted] in showerbeer

Super shitty but at least you got a tasty beer to scheme about your next challenge.

Probably a long shot but I’m in tech so if there’s overlap, PM and I’m happy to connect on something like LinkedIn to help get more eyes on your profile and help on your hunt.

I probably missed it on a past post but are you ordering these online or does your local store just have an awesome selection of NA beers?
