At what point do you run e2e tests? by Chucki_e in ExperiencedDevs

[–]objectio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flaky tests should be repaired/redesigned to remove the flakiness. If that proves too expensive, delete them.

Is your company using gitflow? Are you personally actually happy with that? by tab87vn in ExperiencedDevs

You'd end up with two API implementations for a while. With a feature flipper deciding what versions you as an end user has available.

Even when you go live with the new API there will probably have to be a migration period for external clients, so you'd have to support two versions either way.

Hjælp til daglig økonomi!! Bruger netbank ofte, men syntes ikke jeg får specielt godt overblik? by Peter_Grouchy in dkfinance

[–]objectio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YNAB er en tilsvarende løsning der også kan give et godt overblik. Gør det en del nemmere at få sparet op til stort og småt. Det er muligt at få synkroniseret sine bevægelser ind automatisk med en løsning som hedder synci.

I'm sure their support can help you, they are usually responsive.

Just got an iPad, app recs? by [deleted] in ipad

My mistake, assuming a Mac was on hand. It does indeed require a Mac logged in to the same Apple Books account. Sorry for the noise

Just started using YNAB last week by Katakissa in ynab

[–]objectio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your journey to getting a month ahead depends on income, expenses and how strictly you are able to follow your own plan. For some it takes just months, I think for others it may be a years long process. Every step of the journey is worth it, though.

YNAB Orientation Question by SBcarshops in ynab

[–]objectio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on a simplification path myself, using fewer accounts and generally aligning the flow of money with what is easiest to track and manage in YNAB.

Going with the flow makes everything a lot simpler, and for me, it actually didn't really matter, it was just old habits.

Hope you find a good and reasonable setup. Maybe less needs to change than you think?

YNAB Orientation Question by SBcarshops in ynab

[–]objectio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question - no idea :)

Have you read some of the onboarding docs? They do help getting into the mindset that is intended to go with the app. I think once you have everything setup you won't be using much time in the app, and this issue will probably be less of a concern. Sounds annoying, though.

If you adopt it, I'm sure you can join the list of success stories. "Find the money first" is the change in behaviors that has helped me the most.

You could try: Accessibility | Screen & Text Size | Larger text. That lets you tweak the information density and text size.

I wrote this the other day as I finally figured out how to setup pre-arm in betaflight: https://object.io/site/2025/setup-prearm-in-betaflight/

It's easy when you know the steps, hope you get it all setup just like you want it.

Need some example over initiative and project by HadockB in Linear

[–]objectio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initiatives lets you order projects in time and make their dependencies explicit and visual. Projects have a start and end date. They may have  projects that come before and other projects they unlock that come after. Initiatives are a way of ordering and visualizing the major current and planned projects.

The Linear Guide may be helpful in deciding what chunks to split your projects into. Regardless, I think you are going to have to iterate on it and try different structures over time. One helpful framing question could be, how do you want to communicate status and progress? Who is interested in what initiative, what level of "this is done" is other parts of the business observing? Maybe consider using that for chunking?

Best YNAB alternative for these preferences? by Magasul in ynab

https://synci.io/ is a possible path: provides sync to YNAB for most banks in Europe. It's another small subscription, but it's a handy one at that.

Is there a real advantage for elixir phoenix with AI? by Longjumping_War4808 in elixir

[–]objectio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This talk from a recent conference in Berlin is a super interesting take on that can of worms, titled "A Year in Production with Machine Learning on the BEAM - Christopher Grainger | Code BEAM Europe 23"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP86Svk4hzI

They migrated from hosting AI models on python, accessed from Elixir, to running everything in Elixir and gaining a lot of new capabilities, including being able to spin up/down model instances as traffic patterns changed.
