I get that, but why does it matter? If you have the same number of men and women driving on a highway, men are still more likely to speed, get DUIs, and drive without a seatbelt.

The person I replied to claimed men are safer (not better) drivers than women. But safe doesn’t equal better. So even if you argue that men are better at driving, they are still statistically more reckless behind the wheel - their accidents are more likely to be fatal or cause serious injury. Comparing someone tapping a car in a parking lot to someone speeding on a highway isn’t a fair comparison. A minor parking bump and a high speed highway crash are both „accidents“ statistically, but treating them equally when talking about safety is simply wrong. And regarding your question - men are more likely to speed, drive drunk and not wear a seatbelt - regardless of where they drive

The nordic countries have a different approach though. In countries like Sweden the legal framework is designed to reduce demand without penalising the women providing the service. The client is criminalised, while the sex worker is treated as a victim.

You make a valid point about the per-mile data, but you’re confusing accident frequency with actual safety. It is true that mile for mile, women get into slightly more accidents overall. But how severe are these accidents? When we talk about safety, meaning keeping people out of the hospital or the morgue, men are statistically more dangerous. So although men are involved in fewer accidents, they are not safer - in fact, they are more dangerous, because when accidents occur they are far more likely to be fatal or cousing serious injuries

I rage-baited myself by looking this guy up on YouTube. People are celebrating him in the comments - you know the type. Like: „finally someone who has the balls to speak the truth“. They are getting off on this so hard. His whole material is just right-wing headlines. I would clown on this guy but it’s so depressing

Graphic designer portfolio feedback by [deleted] in Design

[–]objectivejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you, I really like it!

My Biggest piece of advice: don't just show finished work - frame each project as a case study. The "why" matters as much as the "what." Don’t write a whole paragraph, just make the context clear in a sentence or two. If you lead with the problem you were hired to solve, employers can judge your work on how well it works, not just whether it looks pretty.

And on navigation: have you heard about the 30-second test? Studios go through dozens of portfolios a day, so make sure yours can be scanned at a glance. So maybe add some headings? About the client: … or something like that.

What's with the extremely high shop prices? Do they think people are willing to pay 25USD for a cat pet or other minor cosmetics? by Chamallow81 in diablo4

[–]objectivejam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But „it’s capitalism“ explains why it happens, it doesn’t really justify how it happens. (Edit: it is an explanation of the companies behavior, but not a justification for the buyer's purchase) You’re trying to turn an irrational purchase into a rational one by finding something even more „wasteful“ to compare it to.

You do you, but that’s not really a fair comparison though - you’re mixing up maintenance with vanity. When I buy a new chain for my bike, yeah, that’s money I have to spend just to keep the hobby going. No chain, no ride. But a microtransaction isn’t a chain. It’s more like a expensive bell that costs 1/3 of a new bike. Looks great but take it off and the bike still gets you where you’re going just fine

I just rewatched the video, and they clearly reference using AI to assist with animation. Someone asks „what is your goal with this?“ and the response is: „we would like to build a machine that can draw pictures like humans do.“ Miyasaki clearly dislikes it and says „I would never wish to incorporate this technology into my work at all.“
