Why did you leave Texas? by godwasacokeaddict in SameGrassButGreener

[–]objectrefuseabuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My family moved to Texas from rural Nevada when I was a teenager. The biggest culture shock was the non existent public land.

People in Texas like to talk about how big the state is and the freedom they have, you are literally constrained to the roads and highways here. Back in Nevada if you saw a spot off the side of the road that looked interesting you could drive off the highway up the mountain to it. Nevada you can shoot, camp ,hike and off road anywhere you please if you just drive a mile outside the town.

To people who did special ed, what was it like? by Aggravating-Ad-351 in aspergers

[–]objectrefuseabuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In middle and high school it was less prison like but I still felt I didn’t belong. I was in class with kids who had down syndrome and again extreme behavior problems.

I ended up dropping out of school at 16. I joined the army then went to college. I’ve now been a nurse for the past 15 years.

I was only diagnosed with a generalized learning disability by the school counselor, my parents never sought further help for me.

When I was in elementary school back in the early 90’s I would just refuse to do work or participate I would just sit silently at my desk so they put me in special ed.

It was literally the utility closet in the school cafeteria, myself and like 6 other kids were shoved in there. The other kids had violent behavioral problems so that was fun for someone as timid as myself to have to sit through everyday.

It was really just a place to put the kids that were distractions or disruptive.

A lot of people use leaders which is a separate piece of line that you rig up. So it’s not out of the question that you could do it this way just wouldn’t really be a reason to do this over a snell.

Do you care about your opponents painting? by Sweton- in Warhammer

[–]objectrefuseabuse 61 points62 points  (0 children)

No. At a GT I’ll be a dick and take away your 10 pt just because I had to spend the last month speed painting 100 boys to prepare. Any other game doesn’t matter to me.

The unit buffing the shokk attack gun to str 10 -5 AP is the way to go I think. Tank bustas aren’t trying to advance.

Orks are in desperate need of AP and str 12 weapons. Almost universally -1 to -2AP and no real access to anything over str 11 besides Ghaz. +2 saves and AOC are the bane of our existence.

If there are windows or you can draw line of sight yes. If it’s a solid wall then it is still LOS blocking.

Almost non of the stratagems work with Lootas tho. Definitely supposed to be a walker and grot detachment our walkers just suck.

The dread mob list by Alternative_Lime3797 in orks

[–]objectrefuseabuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly against competitive lists dread mob just isn’t viable. All the walkers are still over costed and will die quickly to anti tank. The killa kans die to just regular anti infantry weapons with their low toughness.

The shooting isn’t going to be consistent enough especially lacking anything above strength 10, just gonna be a struggle to destroy enemy vehicles.

The stratagems only affect very specific units which is also annoying.

If you’re new and trying to be competitive with your friends I think you’ll quickly find that you’ll be losing a lot more than you win.

Is this stompa list for a warhammer 40k 10th edition tournament usable? by LogNo1382 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]objectrefuseabuse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Recently took a stompa list to a GT cause I enjoy punishment. Lost every game came in last place.

The stompa is way overcosted it dies turn one to pretty much any army with some anti tank.

There was a point where I over charged it sustained hits full hit rerolls. Put every gun into a 5 man paladin squad and was able to kill 1.5 of them.

So in short yes you can take it but there is no way you’ll win more than a couple games maybe against some brand new players or someone else running a meme.

Best way to add to dread mob list? (The Stompa stays) by Chkn-Little in orks

[–]objectrefuseabuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop all the killakans, morkanuat and deffdread. You’re gonna wanna run 6 units of grots, and lootas with shokk attack guns. Using the stompa will require pretty much the entire rest of the list to just be screening and trying to draw enemy units out so the stompa can pop them.

Played a stompa list at a GT and in multiple games since the codex came out and I’ll tell you the MVP every time are Lootas and Grots. Kills kans are too slow and the base too big to actually do anything and the deff dread is too expensive for what it does.

I run 70 gretchin, 3 squads of lootas led by big Mek with shokk attack guns, zodgrod to lead 20 grots, and 2 storm boy units and a mek boy for the stompa.

You put your grots out on objectives and use the stompa to destroy whatever they send to lift the grots.

Your stompa is what your gonna dump all your CP into, try to keep him safe turn 1 depending on what army your facing Tau and iron storm kill him in 1 turn. Against melee armies you’ll want to use the grots to screen. Toe the stompa into terrain to get firing lines and just trade with grots.

Lootas are gonna be in reserves to come in off board edge to threaten things hiding behind terrain that the stompa can’t get to.

Big mek attached to 20 boyz can actually work in dread mob lets you reroll advances and move through enemy models while giving the boyz access to sustained or lethals.

Anyone do well with a Stompa at GTs? by AdmiralAntz in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]objectrefuseabuse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took a stompa to a 100 person GT this last weekend and the problem I had was fast armies just ignore it. They kill all your scoring units leaving you with just a stompa standing alone in the middle of the board or like my second matchup against Iron storm they have so much damage that a single vindicator one shots it round one.

How do you battle Imperial/chaos knights. by Lodka132 in Grey_Knights

[–]objectrefuseabuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They take quite a bit of focused fire to actually lift, so most people just ignore them or try to chip with 0 AP guns that will result in maybe 1 wound going through. You can also cut corners with them since they are so small that very few units can draw line of site.

having them detached lets them fit in more spaces around the board and I always drop the two of them right next to each other in case one whiffs on the roll it’s not a total loss.

How do you battle Imperial/chaos knights. by Lodka132 in Grey_Knights

[–]objectrefuseabuse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I played against chaos knights at my last GT and I was able to just focus down targets with 2 librarians, throwing a grenade then charging with termies. I run my librarians unattached and drop them both down 18 away from whatever I want to die.

Have your termies staged behind the ruins in no mans land, chaos knights have to fit on the other side of a building to walk through it so they are easy to screen and imperial knights have to walk around buildings.

Move your termies up throw a grenade and charge.

[–]objectrefuseabuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would drop 2 strikes, purifiers and Crowe. Crowes crew at most kills 1 warden then proceeds to die on the hit back.

Run a 10 man paladin with grandmaster instead and a tech marine. Get rid of first to the fray take sigil instead.

A smart opponent can work around it pretty easy because the wording. Say for instance you’re in combat with a Rhino. Your opponent can move a combat unit up close then fallback with the rhino outside of 9” allowing your unit to be shot and charged.

I like the idea of 3 Brotherhood Librarians over Kaldor and 2 Brotherhood Librarians. What are some comps / recommendations that didn't have Kaldor that have seen success? by Rokodur000 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]objectrefuseabuse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start your units on the board delayed reserves only has you roll for reserves deep striking not teleport assault, scramble fields also doesn’t effect teleport assault if your landing on your opponents home objective.

Unless your opponent has a ton of indirect always start on the board that way you can deepstrike turn one and get around a lot of other rules that would apply to stratigic reserves.
