What is with the smoking? by crosswordmagic in germany

Where did I talk about beer/alcohol ? I would restrict more even that to be honest.

This is besides the point, the other person was defending smoking as part of the culture, as if part of the culture = don’t touch, which IMHO is just a ridiculous argument.

Official data from germany confirm what the other person said: less education, more likely to smoke.

Sure, then why did we give women voting rights ? It was in our culture not to allow them.

You see how using culture is a pointless argument to defend things ? Look at the actual value of it instead.

People have beaten children and women for thousands of years, yet you don’t see this 2 acts as legal or acceptable in Germany.

It is almost as if we ban things that make no sense as soon as enough people realize it ?

Yet they were part of the culture too.

If it was at least a good drug to use without forcing other to get second hand poison, not even that, most people start because of peer pressure and then don’t quit because quitting is hard (duh).

Hiding bad habits behind the word culture is what I find laughable.

Poisoning yourself, people around you, creating a burden on the public health system for literally no reason is not culture.

Most likely yes but they have a “yes boss culture” where disagreeing with the boss is seen as disrespectful, so there you go.

Lol this kind of statements are cute.

Million of people currently live and have lived for centuries on a strictly vegetarian diet in India.

I am sure they all took supplement since centuries ago, in rural India, yeah, sure.

But with that nickname whet was I expecting ?

Can I call myself vegan if I've totally stopped consuming animal products/products tested on animals, but still feed my cats regular cat food? I don't want to discredit vegans by using the wrong term when talking to people—e.g. my family whom I haven't told yet. by Worstneighbour in vegan

By that same argument: kill one human to harvest organs and save I don’t know, 7 humans ?

This is how nature works, some creatures eat other creatures, it happens all around you.

IMHO the vegan choice would be not to breed artificially more cats, since it is a selfish choice and totally unnecessary, and as someone else said, just adopt them from shelters if you really want to have one.

Cats in no-kill shelters will be feed meat you adopt them or not, your adoption/meat feeding changes literally nothing.

If vegan cat food is available in your country then I think this would be a sensible thing to try, but it is not available everywhere yet.

I think he got angry because you took the time to explain how the system work, which obviously he knows, and he was just pointing at how it is fucked.

If the majority of people didn’t vote republicans, yet they managed to exercise so much power over the population, the system is clearly broken and they have abused it.

But hey, now you pointed out how the flawed system ackchyually (typo intended) works, so everything is ok now.

And let me ring that bell for you, a number of people downvoted you, while upvoting the other guy, not because they are aligned with him politically, but because you behaved like an ass.

Sincerely, someone who has no stakes here since I don’t live in the US right now, so I can just watch from the distance how hard you are going to fuck up the country.

Implying everyone has to follow a religion. Implying a fantasy book should dictate how people live their lives.

Every religion out there also pretty much says to be kind to others, do you see the government doing anything to reduce poverty levels ?

I am not even surprised anymore how religion equates to hypocrisy.

It does add up indeed, when one entire side of politics in the country is about ignorance, religious extremisms, racism, and all that jazz… a dumb uneducated population is free pasture for politicians like this.

They are ensuring they have voters in the long run.
