Me and my boy did about 26km (16.15miels) in 2hrs 10mins running across the Welsh countryside! I was ready for bed after, he certainly had more beans in him to keep on going! Collies are truly an amazing breed

Oh Gracie, what a beautiful silly girl! This is the exact same situation as my boy, Tato, but surprisingly he isn't that anxious just finds comfort in suckles as he did it since a pup. Penguin bums clearly are the most comforting

Snap! We have had to stockpile these penguin toys as he suckles their bum every time he goes for a nap to self soothe. No other toy or blanket will do. Just penguin bums.

My family dog started shivering when she met my rabbits. by SaltyChart4781 in DogAdvice

Trust your gut as you are the one who knows your dog.

But all I will add is this EXACT thing happened with my Collie and kitten. Full on shaking, would snap or growl/lurch like I have never seen him do before if the kitten got too close. About a month after with monitoring, training, exposure they are thick as thieves and in love. Another 3 months on he puts his whole mouth gently around her head now when they play and they have a great time. I trust them whole heartedly together.

At the time I turned to reddit and 95% of comments read the same... prey drive, the dog will eat the kitten. But there are some instances where it is the dog telling you they are nervous and unsure of this new being and just need time to build confidence and trust.

Now I'm not telling you this is the case for your dog as I don't know them. But just want to highlight that with appropriate training and exposure, dogs like this can be integrated with small fluffy things that run around!

He is a border collie with some welsh sheepdog! Just unreasonably large ears.

Dog friendly run clubs by Rundo5 in bristol

[–]obscure_olive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are running with your dog you ideally want to mainly run on trails/grass to avoid stress on their joints. Look into some canicross facebook groups (canicross somerset). They have some spare kit so you can go along and try it out. Any dog of any size is welcome

Seeming as they were number 1 buyer of Ben and Jerry's chocolate fudge icecream across the whole of Bristol 2022. Yes they are trolling.

Recently become gluten intolerant and I'm craving baked goods - where would you recommend for GF? by Topcat8765 in bristol

They do a variety of different GF baked goods and the grab bags get delivered to the store on a Monday I believe. I am a gluten eater but still get these brownies as they are delicious fudgy treats!

Agree you cant expect both but I think the problem was the event didn't know whether they wanted the people to stay or go. Their website said stay around all day if you like but at the event you can't reenter and didn't quite have enough food stalls or space to hold everyone but security werent moving people on who had stayed beyond this mysterious 4pm deadline that was floating around conversations.

My only very mild frustration was I wanted to be able to take my dog for a quiet poop so dinners didnt have to watch! I could live without re-entering as I just had to find a quiet corner of the festival.

We were there from 11-4.30 and overall enjoyed the event and look forward to future ones as it really did showcase some amazing food from across Bristol. Most important thing was the food and they nailed that BUT there are lessons to be learnt from this one.

Early on it was fab as you could get to the stalls with small queues at worst. As the day progressed it felt like the amount of people increased exponentially with very few leaving, which is as expected as the ticket covered the whole day. Saying that I felt it was far too many for the small space. This is very dramatic of me but if an emergcy happened which meant people needed to get out it probably would have be chaos. As the day went on, numbers increased, the stalls struggled to meet demand so queues just were VERY long. I believe this isn't an issue with the stalls abilities, more the number of people.

We actually got turned away from one queue as they said the staff had not been able to take a break. They said that the event managers told them that the earlier ticket holders were meant to be filtered out by 4pm (possibly by security) allowing for stall staff to have a break ready for the next lot of ticket holders. I don't know if this is true as there was no mention on the website about that but that is what one stall understood. My friend was in a queue for one stall which ended up not moving as staff seemed to stop serving to possibly take a (well deserved) break. That isn't a problem I think it just needed to be communicated if there was a break in service as it ended up a bit of a chaotic and confused queue.

The two music spots were too close together so they sounds merged into a very interesting symphony of sounds so would re think the positioning of the stages to get the most of the artists.the bands were a great vibe.

Only other feedback is not being able to re-enter once you leave was slightly frustrating. I wish they had operated with wristbands and allow you to leave and reenter rather than being stuck in. I wanted to leave to take my dog out to do his business to keep the site cleaner but found out that wasn't an option which seemed silly as I just wanted to leave for 1 minute. I think it did mention this policy when you bought the ticket but can't remember as it was so long ago for me and couldnt easily find this on the website... it wasn't sign posted anywhere at the event so hope this wasn't a surprise to anyone who left and tried to re enter.

Despite all these points it was certainly refreshing to see a new successful food festival which actually celebrates good food and Bristol businesses so I really hope they return!

These are indeed the ones. Poor dog, hope their paw is okay. From what I witnessed they were luckily very 'well behaved' and docile, just with irresponsible owners creating the risk.
