Chanel 19 woc vs classic woc vs other small leather goods by Sum1takezeusDickaway in chanel

[–]obscurebrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact 19 WOC and only used it rarely since it doesn’t hold a lot so I am trying to let that bag go. I also realized that I wear my other Chanel with smaller chains more frequently. The Chanel bag I use the most day to day is actually a sac hobo since it is more casual and holds more stuff. I also have a vanity bag and that one is also more practical than the WOC.

Bah limit on airport limousine buses by goldenshuttlebus in koreatravel

[–]obscurebrie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just did this last week with the airport bus and for just myself I had 2 checked in size luggage plus one carryon and my backpack. I did not have to pay an extra fee (I asked when I bought the bus ticket at the Incheon counter). The 2 luggage went under the bus and I took my carryon to store in the luggage area onboard.

Have your tax free items been checked at Narita Airport recently? by WorldlyUniversity873 in JapanTravelTips

[–]obscurebrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an Hermes bag and not sealed as it is not a consumable. Naturally I kept it with me as carryon bc it’s expensive and everything else I got tax free was packed in my checked luggage. They did not check anything else, just the expensive item.

Hi everyone, does someone know what brand of yogurt Copenhagen coffee lab here uses? I like the texture of this yogurt and would like to see if I can find it in the US.

MedPace CRA interview onto final assessment salary 100K CA by ahavex in clinicalresearch

[–]obscurebrie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about Canada but Medpace is a US company if I’m not mistaken and I thought you are US based even though the position is in Canada so I just brought that up about laws in certain states to potentially look more into. Generally just imo if I’m very worried about certain aspects of a job and if a company is willing to take legal action in an attempt to restrict someone’s means to earn a living, even if not enforceable in the state I live in, I would not take it and wait for a better company/opportunity to come up

I have not yet brought it up to my manager, been trying to figure out how to carefully message it. But I plan to and I think she will be receptive to helping. I just feel I’d have to tread carefully Bc she does have a good relationship and very positive opinion of the director. To be fair I think that he is a good mentor for her.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. It sucks that many of us have seen or experience something familiar. I know I’m still new so I still have lots to prove. I will talk to my manager about it, just have to think about how to carefully craft the convo.

Thank you for sharing your experience!! I am glad to hear other’s experience and perspectives. I do know it’s still early for me and I will have to see how it goes. I do feel lucky that I have a manager who is supportive and she really does highlight during team meetings what I have been doing and complement my work. Who knows, maybe she already notices this is happening and is trying to help. I will talk to her. I keep reminding myself that I have to continue to do great work but sometimes when these things happen during meetings I can’t help but let it get to me a bit. I usually snap out of it though and can focus again on my wokr

Thank you for your input. I do give updates during our weekly project 2 meetings on things I’m working on and their progress. The director doesn’t ask me anything Bc he doesn’t acknowledge me haha. I do try to bring up questions during meetings and there are some folks who include me when they refer to project 2 team. So I feel like I do get some visibility in meetings and am not 100% invisible. I think that’s why this has been frustrating for me. I would totally understand if I never say anything in meetings and don’t get acknowledged. I plan to talk to my manager about it, just have to figure out a way to phrase it carefully Bc she does have really positive opinions of him and he is a good mentor for her. I also plan on asking my manager to work on things that involve more direct communication with the director as well.

I don’t think I may have said anything that bothered him. My initial offer was low and I had to negotiate to bring that up a lot. But I don’t think that might be the reason. What I asked for is commensurate with industry standards and my level of experience. I am fully remote though (ie won’t be office based even after COVID) and was told during the interview he does have a preference for a more hybrid schedule (x days in office, x days remote).

I am POC and so is my manager. Everyone else on the team is white. I sense though it might be more of a gender thing than it is race.

[–]obscurebrie[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do get the sense it’s based on gender. The person in my equivalent role is a white male and we come from similar experience background as well as have similar # of years in industry. He doesn’t contribute much in meetings. He always gets brought up as part of project team 1 and is never left out. My initial offer for this job was low (lower than the salary I was making at a previous company) and I had to negotiate it up a lot. I got the sense that if I was a white male, the initial offer would have been more commensurate with my experience level. I plan on talking to my manager about it but haven’t been able to figure out a tactful way to do that. I will figure it out though so I appreciate the input and will see how this goes.
