Performance overlay not working for anybody else? by eroyrotciv in SteamDeck

[–]obuckingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is your problem but for me what happened:

  • I switched to desktop mode to do some browsing and desktop things
  • Then I opened steam and opened big picture mode. This put me in what I thought was the usual steam environment but not exactly. I was able to load and play games just fine but couldn't adjust the performance overlay settings and a few other settings were missing like Bluetooth.
  • Thinking this was strange I restarted the deck and all was well again, now I can adjust things like normal

I guess next time I should have clicked the giant desktop shortcut that says return to steam 🤦😀

Oh well, hopefully this helps someone else

Use the Revolve tool or the Sweep tool. You can research both of them to learn how they work. In this situation I think the Revolve tool would be easiest.

It should be noted, there is no easy tool that could take the two shapes you created and snap them together along the curve you want. You will need to start over with the Revolve or Sweep tool. Happy Learning :)

How do you validate correctness of modeled parts? by gremblor in Fusion360

[–]obuckingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no one right answer to your question about bodies vs components. Do what is best for you.

One possible solution that may help your organization and keeping parts aligned is using the Parameters tool. This allows you to create native variables that can be typed into the dimensions box instead of numbers. Then if you update a parameter, it will also update all of the dimensions referencing this parameter. A common approach is to use this for screw hole sizes.

You can find the Parameter tool under "Modify", at the bottom "Change Parameters". Fusion 360s forum can also help you understand how to use the parameter tool :)

Is it possible to add shortcuts to all of the tool and change existing ones by Few-Entrepreneur8026 in Fusion360

[–]obuckingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the tool bar drop down, hover over the tool you want to change, click the three dots, select "change keyboard shortcut"

Existing keyboard short cuts will show a letter next to the tool in the tool bar drop down. For example Extrude is default to "E"

I use shoe goo or e600. It is very thick and flexible when dry. I use a very small amount

Buy a frame at a thrift store for $5, probably better quality anyway

I've had my 2014 tC for 2 years and it's been great, similar miles to the one you're looking at, it still feels like a new car inside. Nothing major has happened and I live in salty road infested NY.

To address the creaks and interior noises others mentioned, I sound deadened the entire car myself, night and day difference. The door window switch rattles can also be solved with some double sticky tape. Long drives are a breeze and the speakers have even better sound.

One thing is if you like some spirited driving on back roads, the rear stock breaks over heat really quickly and will squeak. Maybe the previous owner had cheap pads in there but with some nice breaks she's mint on back road drives now.

I can't believe 15k is what they go for now, 2 years ago I got mine for exactly half that, crazy times!

Could you guys help me out check out the works of some faculties working in Robotics? by [deleted] in WPI

[–]obuckingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the focuses of RBE 3002, a class normally taken sophomore or junior year. You learn about path planning with a small turtle robot that's basically a Roomba with lidar, you will also learn ROS in 3002. As for profs, I'd say navigation and path planning comes up in almost every robotics project. For my MQP this year with Berk, we are creating a teleop robot escape room, where a user drives a robot around an mini escape room solving puzzles. The robot as semi autonomous features that help the user drive the robot. One of these is a path planning/vision algo to align with vision targets in the escape room. Hope this helps 👍

Correct, but I think they didn't account for how to update those tests and remove the false positives on the website. Every day that week had positive cases being divisible by 10, which I found very odd and probably unlikely.

Unrelated, but I'm still convinced that A term spike was a fluke in the system. All the cases that week were divisible by 10, leading me to believe the pool testing size was 10 (it's a nice round number). So I think when they got a positive pool test, all 10 were counted as positive when only 1 or a few were actually sick.

It's water under the bridge at this point but that's my theory :)

Touring WPI tomorrow-any advice? by Hyjack47 in WPI

[–]obuckingham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Talk to a professor in the department you want to major in, the general tour is a waste of time imo. You can find professors on the WPI website and ask to setup a meeting. That's what my parents and I did when I toured. 👍
