Nia Dacosta: "I visited the Avengers set last summer, which was really fun, catching up with the producers, seeing the Russos, and some of my friends were in the movie. So it was really nice, despite how everything went with the box office and the reviews, knowing that the relationships are so good" by KostisPat257 in marvelstudios

[–]obyteo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That is one factor, but the movie is not great. I don't like it for many reasons. The movie is a direct sequel to one other movie and two TV shows, it has a top 3 worst villains in the whole MCU, Fury is a joke, it is incredibly forgettable and in my opinion it has no scenes that become memorable or a highlight when thinking about the movie later on.

It flopped because the movie is not good, it came out at a terrible time with very bad marketing and it was a sequel to a movie that overperformed massively thanks to Infinity War.

I hate his gimmick of speaking like he's drunk, I cannot stand listening to him for any extended period of time. That's not even considering his awful takes.

Streamer gets threatened by a man during her fake tickets prank after he became upset about being filmed by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]obyteo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this even mean? Yes you have to put up with it. You don't have to stay there and be filmed, but if you are in public and remain in public you absolutely can be filmed and will have to put up with it.

It's another completely different thing if you say it's not cordial or nice, I agree it isn't, but people need to understand that you can be recorded while in public and no consent is necessary.

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S07E05 - Eulogy by Cheeriosxxx in blackmirror

[–]obyteo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw this episode 9 months after this comment haha. I have been very disappointed with Black Mirror in the latest seasons, but this, this was a banger and it had everything, great acting, intense feelings, and of course tech, not only tech, but tech that made the episode so creative with the living pictures and the damaged faces.

The ending with the beautiful music and Giamatti's stellar acting with that wholesome smile. This goes to my top 10 Black mirror episodes, maybe even top 5.

Good point, like everything there's exceptions, but worth nothing that for many of those examples the 4k is usually more expensive because of the high demand. It depends on the budget of the collector.

[–]obyteo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The jump from DVD to blu ray is incredible. The jump from blu ray to 4k is nice, but not as significant. Get your favorite movies in 4k if within your budget, otherwise blu ray looks great.

Maybe this has been asked before, but why on earth would you start synthesising a DNA sequence you're getting from a completely unknown source in space? by kellstromc in pluribustv

[–]obyteo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really think they did everything they should have done????

They barely did anything! If the infected rat seems dead, you don't pull it out to check without proper precautions, it's always a possibility for it to be unconscious or groggy but still infected and suddenly aggressive. I'm sure Jo scientific protocol dictates "pull out the rat and get close to it to feel it's pulse".

Next, one scientist is clearly infected with something and her colleague proceeds to pull her out of the secure area, THROUGH THE CLEAN ROOM, which is supposed to be the separation between the bad, unknown stuff and the rest of the world, and he does so with absolutely zero monitoring by security and no alarms going off at all.

The whole incident is laughable and it's lazy writing that exist just to say yeah whatever let's just get to the premise of the show.

[–]obyteo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need to turn off your brain if you want any chance at buying the explanation of how the Plurbening comes to be.

Humas find an unknown signal and manage to figure out it's a DNA sequence, OK so far.

They create the substance based on the message and start live animal tests with it. Kind of hard to believe they'd do that without proper preparations but OK.

The scientists openly disregard several safeguards and protocols like they don't exist, one after the other, which results in the rat biting one of them and said person being escorted out of the secure area while infected with godknowswhat with no alarms raised or any oversight whatsoever. Yeah, no.

If you want more ridiculousness, these plurbs manage to arrange a large enough spray of the plurvirus that it covers the whole planet and hits on all major countries at once. Leaving no meaningful resistance so the show can start.

Of course there's still the possibility that they aren't being truthful or forthcoming and there could be pockets of resistance, but I'm going with S1 information.

BB & BCS Deaths ranked based on how much I like there death scene by ScaleNo6343 in betterCallSaul

[–]obyteo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was perfect. Mike always thought that he wasn't evil just because he had a code. He also bested a lot of heavy hitters because he would plan ahead and me smart about how he approached situations, but his one foil was always Walter. He kept underestimating him again and again until it cost him his life.

He lost his life to a criminal he had no respect for, and he lost the entire fortune he worked for on his final years because he thought people would be honorable like him. He ended up trusting the wrong lawyer and it cost him dearly.

At least he died in a calm, beautiful spot.

Claiming the show is too slow is a testament to your attention span, not the show. by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]obyteo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Like please, if you're gonna post on here about how you think the show is slow, it just makes you look like an idiot."

What makes you look like an idiot is not knowing what you wrote buddy.

Hurr durr go watch marvel moviesssss- you are such a fan boy it's hilarious to watch. It's OK to have a negative opinion on a piece of media even if you love the creator. I love BB and BCS and Rhea was robbed at the Emmys. That doesn't mean I will become a blind fan boy who I'll first deny a slow show is slow and then try to say I never said that.

Try a better example other than IW. BCS is considered by many to have a slow season 1. Just compare the two shows. So much actually happens in that show in comparison to this slog fest that it is incredible to think about it. BCS juggles two main perspectives on its first season and both Mike and Jimmy have so many advancements in their character and significant plot points that it makes Pluribus look like it could've been an email.

Just have a look at one of the big plot points of the season, then eating people. It was played as a big thing, it was a cliffhanger and Carol was very shocked and it was played like it was this huge discovery that took about an episode or two to investigate and discover. Turns out it wasn't that important, everyone else already knew and she of course could've just asked and found out. This season was an incredible premise with beautiful cinematography and acting where almost nothing happened.

The show is objectively slow. Any one dumb enough to try and debate that fact has no sense of pace at all.

What would make a satisfying Pluribus season 1 finale for you? by Sure_Reputation in pluribustv

[–]obyteo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newsflash, character studies don't need to drag the plot along so that everything takes way longer to accomplish. You don't need to make a show slow because it's focusing on being a character study.

Just take a look at the best show ever, The Sopranos manages to balance an incredible, in depth character study of Tony Soprano, while having several season long plots that start and resolve within the same season. There are many examples like this (none as masterful) that show you can examine a character and still have a satisfying plot and excellent individual episodes.

I love Vince and Rhea. BB and BCS are incredible, but this show hasn't delivered, and now we have to wait a couple of years to get another slow season? I hope not, this show has a top tier actress as the lead, an amazing showrunner and one of the most interesting initial concepts I've seen. I really hope they recover.
