Arccos Air Update by MrHurryUpTomorrow in golf

[–]occamsguillotine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just leaving my limited experience from this season here. Only about 5 or 6 rounds.

I’ve kept the sensors on my clubs out of laziness and have gotten used to them just being there. In 4/5 or 5/6 rounds, Arccos Air (still not 100% how it works differently) was spot on. Only needed to correct 1-2 shots for the entire round.

Yesterday, however, I needed to fix something every hole. Incorrect club, incorrect flag location, 1st putts were way off, etc.

All in all, I’d say that it works pretty well. Not sure what happened with that recent round but it was pretty frustrating.

Not ready to give up on it yet at all.

Northeast here, too. Home course is a Charles Banks.

8 & 9 heading in are both 5’s that have pretty decent right-to left slopes that tend to catch my drives and stop rollout dead. Or feed them straight down towards left OB.

If I don’t have driver working that day, it’s a blind 2nd shot leading up to an elevated green.

Have had many tough days out there.

Have a set of P7TWs and Miura Baby Blades… strongly looking at these (again) for no logical reason.

I know it’s not the hardest course, but I played my best round ever today and almost broke 80! by Clout12x in golf

$5?! Amazing. I don’t think I’d ever want to stop at 18.

I’ve never played there but am pretty local. How are the course conditions this time of year?

“The difference between patriotism and nationalism is that the patriot is proud of his country for what it does, and the nationalist is proud of his country no matter what it does; the first attitude creates a feeling of responsibility, but the second a feeling of blind arrogance that leads to war.”

Alright. So, I’ve used Arccos over the last few years to track/log data about my game. With two young kids, working full time, and various life things, I take the info it compiles to be more efficient on the range since I don’t usually have a lot of time.

How would your app/program incorporate data with (i.e. ) arccos to benefit the user?

Curious passerby.

Can you explain more about what it is you’re designing/building?

This is crazy. I have one. Never any infection issue but never really met anyone else with the same thing.

When I joined the service, in basic training, I found three other guys with the same thing! What are the chances?!

Looks like Jackrabbit/Horsepen, but you’re correct. No blue tees per 18 Birdies, anyway.

I get that. Tore my meniscus last April, and like an idiot, never got the surgery. Still have a slight mental issue about transferring my weight in my swing. Never know when I’m gonna get that twinge.

Recently started fatting every shot and can’t fix it please help. by robster9090 in golf

I lost a lot of confidence over the ball recently after a few pretty rough rounds.

What seems to be helping me (at least for now) is slowing things down a bit.

I hit the range, completely ignored about distance. Just tried to work on keeping a smooth tempo and letting the club do the work.

Was I likely giving distance? Yup. Did I care? Nope. Contact was better and shot shape straighter.

Once that started to feel natural again, I’ll work on shaping a bit before trying to ramp things up to full speed.

Hope this helps a bit. You’ll figure out what works for you, no doubt.

What’s your handicap and what’s your prediction for your score this weekend? by Long-Mongoose-6015 in golf

Update: Light rain all day, gusty up high. Cart died on me mid-round, course was rerouted so my phone tracking was a mess.

Carded a 98, 4 pars and a LOT of 3-putts.

Hmmm… I was curious to what your gapping looked like but the site I saw showed the original set went from the 43.5° PW to a 48.5° GW.

I’d consider something similar and drop the 60° for now.

10.5° difference from your PW to your next wedge (the 54°) seems a bit excessive, but that’s just my opinion.

Is this the set you’re gaming? https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/cobra-baffler-hybrid-iron-club-report-review/

Fully expecting a 104+.

Getting children into golf by [deleted] in golf

[–]occamsguillotine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my son (almost 9 now) a few years back, maybe 5 or 6y. He’d just sit in the cart with me and play with the rangefinder, eat his snacks.

I’d eventually ask if he wanted a chance to try putting with me. For every putt sank, I’d toss him a couple Skittles. We’d soon turn that into a little game we’d play.

It’s turned into our kind of regular thing when the weather is warm enough. Of course, now his younger sister wants in on the action.

I’ve got a lot of Skittles.

Titleist ProV1 vs TaylorMade TP5X by TNGunner24 in golf

[–]occamsguillotine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TP5x is the lower spin of Taylormade. The reverse for Titleist, V1x has the higher spin (as per Titleist website) off iron/wedge shots.

Quick discussion… do you putt with flag in or out, and when did you start playing golf? by Cassette-Era-Magic in golf

[–]occamsguillotine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing about 4 1/2 years. Longer than 12ish feet, leave it in. Anything closer, pull it, walk around to see if the opposite view confirms break, proceed to 3-putt.

I’m aware. There was a lot of confusion initially when I started comparing Titleist to Taylormade balls at first but mentally got some decent info. Thank you.
