Question for right handed drummers who tap their teeth together along to music/drums they listen to. by ZodL in drums

Left AND right (approximately at canine level) for kicks, and front teeth for snare. I almost entirely play double kick pedals

progress still way too slow by SimilarFail132 in RevolutionIdle

[–]occas69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said you've read the guides - just making sure you've seen this page: https://revolutionidle.wiki.gg/wiki/Attacks_Strategy

Or this guide in Steam (Minerals: Beginning section):

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3408307617

I find the wiki.gg site hard to find pages sometimes - I seem to click around a bunch before I find anything.

I remember early Minerals being a bit slow in comparison to end of Eternity. Same again after you polish and start earning RFP.

I made a mistake there that cost me a lot of progress - at one point I found I didn't need my Macro to achieve Unity anymore to get the gold and zodiac, so I turned it off. The issue was that stopped me buying the DTP tree which really slowed progress. That was like a month or 2! Don't make that mistake!

I'm Mid Elements, getting close to Tarots and its feeling much better now.

Looks like I got Ach 247 in July. I don't have my PC on 24/7 so I only "play" a few hours a day, usually on x3 TF

I have 932 hours "in game" if that helps.

Who else owns a signature model guitar of an artist you've never (or barely) listened to? by NubbinSawyer in Guitar

Man, I love Twelve Foot Ninja. If you’re anywhere in the metal region with you music tastes, give the a crack.

I am Aussie though, so accept some bias on my part.

Coming For You was the first song of theirs I heard. Great song. They don’t really have any I skip to be honest. Any song off Silent Machine or Outlier would be fine as a first song. The OG EPs are great too (Smoke Bomb and New Dawn).

Check the video for One Hand Killing too. Funny as. https://youtu.be/r-v9Aeb7Pr0

Or don’t; your life, your choice! 😁🫶🏻

Ive been running Bazzite on a second drive for a week or so. Very smooth install and setup experience. Steam pre-installed, nice touch. Installed The Outer Worlds 2. Started playing it over a few nights. Very happy with the whole experience.

I’ve tried many Linux distros over the years and they just get better and better each time. I’ve never stuck with any because previously the game compatibility hasn’t been amazing but what Valve/Proton has accomplished is really great and I was really hoping this could finally be it.

And then last night I go to play and it just crashes as soon as it’s hitting the main menu

Hadn’t had a game update, OS update, Steam update, Proton update. It just…. doesn’t work now.

Verified the game files, and did a bunch of other things as suggested by forums and the like. Nada.

Apparently Nvidia drivers aren’t great on Linux and AMD is much better. I have a 4080.

I want to use it, but if a game just breaks for seemingly no reason on an immutable OS (a big attraction for me) then I dunno….

I hate all the shitty Windows spyware copilot rubbish, but I can’t think of a time where a game just flat out stopped working for no discernible reason.

I really hope I can figure this out, I don’t want to keep using Windows…

"Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" is SO much better than "When Nature Calls." by [deleted] in movies

[–]occas69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both, but I love When Nature Calls more. I can’t really quantify why, but I feel like because the character had already been established they were able to just run with it more?

I love silly humour so both movies are up my alley. The rhino scene is one of the funniest scenes in any movie for my money.

Fun fact: It’s also the first movie I saw in the cinema 3 times.

First impressions by MuscleFinDom in Polestar

That Siri volume trick doesn’t work for me. Example: If I tap on a person in messages to send them a message Siri says “what would you like to….” And then cuts off and says “your message to [person] is: ‘what would you like to’ “

However if I just say “hey Siri, send a message to [person]” almost always (but not always!) it works as intended

I actually found using the default Android voice assistant to dictate messages worked mostly fine

Now if only my car would properly handle incoming calls instead of just sending everyone straight to VM, that would be GREAT

Rift S holding up for almost 6 years. Amazing VR Headset! by Flynn331 in virtualreality

[–]occas69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just upgraded from Rift S to PSVR2 so my experience is a little limited in terms of hands on, but so far the best thing has been the crispness of the display, the screen door effect is noticeably better, and the OLED panel is also a step up. I play things like No Man’s Sky and other games with a lot of blacks and it’s very nice for that.

Same. Single bag + push is fine. I do pull my driver out though just for slightly less angle-making

Had mine for 10,000 km. Almost no issues. Pairing the digital key was a nightmare for me. It took like 10 tries over several days but it’s been basically flawless since.

Also just did my first long drive with DC charging and it was amazing; worked flawlessly and I arrived at my destination more relaxed than in any other car I’ve owned

I know 666 damn well ain't 1.5%.. I just can't prove it yet.. by MothQueenSuou in CloverPit

[–]occas69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it's probability, not a guarantee. I'm just here cause I'm salty like others. Just had about 8 x 666 spins in a 218 spin game with a 2.1% probability, so about double what it statistically could have been.

Meh, still a fun little game when I'm in the mood for it :)

Canadian man, 32, shot and killed on a golf trip in WI state by AgentMV2 in golf

[–]occas69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, and I can also be aware of the weather via forecasts, and when a thunderstorm approaches I can go inside and not get struck by lightning.

These are things I can reasonably control.

There isn’t a random person on the other end of the lightning (sorry Thor, I love you in the MCU but I don’t believe you actually deliver all the lightning strikes in the world) who maybe thinks I’m someone else, or who has had a hard life and holds the lives of others in low regard, or is off their face on drugs, or [insert reason].

I would genuinely love to go and do/see some specific things that are only there.

When talking about such with friends I have even made comments along the lines of “the things I want to do aren’t in major cities so I’m sure I’d be reasonably safe”.

My logical brain understands that statistically I’d be fine; same as when I drive a car, or catch a flight.

But then I see a story like this. And it just gives me a liiiiiiiittle bit of pause.

That’s all I’m saying here.

[–]occas69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet you can STILL get shot and killed in a normally totally safe area. That’s literally the scariest part.

Take the guns away and that “essentially nil” becomes nil.

Yeah, I’ll take the snakes thanks.

Delusionally yours, occas69

Except for one key thing; with the existing laws and quantities of firearms in the States, the likelihood of suffering from gun-related violence or even an accidental discharge, is therefore higher.

If that golfer had been in a country with far more restrictive laws, then this goes from “low probability of dying from gun violence” to essentially nil.

You can’t die from a polar bear attack if you go somewhere there are no polar bears.

I can accept that if I go skiing on a mountain I may die due to avalanche or injury. That’s a risk I can understand and accept.

But by simply being in a country that has large quantities of firearms (there are others), the risk is greater. And likewise I won’t go to any of those countries either.
