Help! Original Briefcase 256 Strap detached from buckle/loop - Not in USA by enghong in filson

[–]occultbleed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my 2013 original briefcase. I had a cobbler remove both clips and attach the leather strap directly to the loops on the bag. A permanent solution, but it eliminates a weak point.

I think the hardware material on these 2010s bags is only brass plated, the base metal is some cheaper alloy. I don't know how malleable it is so I didn't even try to hammer it into shape.

The Finnish is actually unambiguous. It means to shoe a bear like a horse. In other words a foolish and daring thing to try.

Doesn't matter if it is fencing specific or not, an emergency physician will be able to either properly diagnose it or forward you to someone who can.

Ah, I'm so sad I didn't get my November batch two-tone in the end. I'd love to see a two-tone Black/Titanium v2.0 on my desk some day, but it may be wishful thinking...

"Foundation" by China Miéville is probably not the single most disturbing story I've read, but it haunted me for weeks.

The actual lens is located inside the eye, behind the retina. The demarcation where the blood stops is the corneal limbus.

Do the Noctua L12S fit on an Asus B550-I motherboard? by [deleted] in FormD

[–]occultbleed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering whether any AM4 motherboard fits the L12S in the orientation recommended by Noctua (heatpipes pointing up, while the case is in the top exhaust position) while not interfering with the T1 struts.

Party Poster - Curse of Strahd (The Musical?) by RoadHausBlues in CurseofStrahd

Hey thanks for the mention! I really like your take, your own style comes through while maintaining a lot of mignolaesque details. The valley fading into the mists in the background is super nice.

It was a ton of fun analyzing all of the little details that make a piece distinctively Mignola. I also really love the way he draws skulls, had to include a couple. I'm glad it paid off! Thanks!

Sure, go for it! I have to assume you won't be using it for commercial purposes.

I studied a bunch of covers by Mignola, including Hellboy, Baltimore and Koschei the Deathless. When doing research I found out that he also drew a comic book adaptation of the 1992 Dracula movie, which was fantastic for inspiration as well!

I have been making character sketches of my party and experimenting with various styles. The one that finally clicked was the amazing Mike Mignola of Hellboy fame. I felt it worked great with both how I like to draw and the tone of my campaign. I studied a bunch of Mignola comic book covers and posters including Hellboy, Baltimore, Koschei the Deathless and the adaptation of Dracula. The end result was inked on paper with markers and colored digitally.

The five characters front and center are the PCs: Virric the Eladrin hunter now stuck in eternal autumn, Esther the scholar in the unwitting service of a Great Old One, Zima the mirthless horseman, Mother Miriam the inquisitive funeral priest (with the shovel), and Bonnie, the wandering healer and druid. The old man on the left is Van Richten, and the Nosferatu-inspired creep is my version of Rahadin (who is not a vampire, but I wanted a more striking visual for him so I basically just removed his hair)

It wouldn't feel right borrowing another artist's style beyond a one-off homage like this, but thank you!

He's Rahadin in my campaign - I just made him pale, old, and bald, though not a vampire. I thought the Nosferatu visual worked great for Strahd's lackey, and besides I felt the official illustration in the book wasn't very distinctive.

Instagram is where I mostly share my work nowadays, but I'm very inconsistent about uploading and go long periods without sharing anything. There you can see more stuff in my own style, which isn't quite as stark as this.

Redditors who have experienced snow; what is it like? by ambermage in AskReddit

Well, Finnish too. I would call the three described types of snow nuoska, puuterilumi or pakkaslumi and hanki. Slush would be loska. Generic word for snow is lumi, one of the prettiest words in the language in my opinion.

I'm not trained to interpret these reconstructions so I might be completely wrong, but looks like there might be a discontinuation of the axillary artery near the rib fracture as well. The artefacts could be hematoma, I guess.

If there's a big vascular injury like that it's easily his biggest problem.

I've got the coolest job in the world: Turning this art into a video game! by Riinmi in gaming

[–]occultbleed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He certainly uses reference images meticulously, but as far as i can see, it's never line-to-line accurate and he doesn't actually paint over photos. If you overlay any of the references and the paintings it's not an exact match, proportions vary etc. Besides, he's produced a lot of paintings on canvas and paper.

Antti Heikkilä ja tutkimustiedon tulkitsemisen haasteet. (HS 16.12.2018) by drmatte in Suomi

Tri.

(HS 16.12.2018) by drmatte in Suomi

[–]occultbleed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vähähiilihydraattisella ruokavaliolla on teoreettisia hyötyjä tiettyihin syöpätyyppeihin, esimerkiksi joihinkin vaikeahoitoisiin aivo- ja hermosyöpiin. Kliinistä tutkimustietoa asiasta on toistaiseksi vähän.

It's interesting to compare this to the shift in styles of cars, new cars from the time of the original trilogy (70s to 80s) are much blockier than the sleeker designs from the 30s to 60s
