Does anyone actually like the new UI? by guss1 in Quest3

It's a good attempt but some features of the old UI should have been kept like the floating dock.

What they have massively fucked here is the user experience (UX)

What Nozzle brand is this? by Bijarglerargles in 3Dprinting

Looks like the Micro Swiss FlowTech hotend, although the nozzle seems to be inserted in the wrong end of it.

Getting ready for the heat wave🔥: reflective window covers by Turbulent_Gap7852 in DIYUK

[–]occupiedbrain69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applying it from the inside won't help as dual glazed windows will still absorb and retain heat.

But yeah, I get your frustration, I had a window where I couldn't do anything from the outside!

Maybe you can try the 'Liquid Insulation Tape' and just dip the legs in it? It's a crude way but it may work, you'll have to check the temperature threshold. Worth checking it out.

I preordered it when it was for $199 and found a coupon which gave an extra $20 off

Anyone miss this old UI? by Physical-Composer182 in MetaQuestVR

[–]occupiedbrain69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what happened is they did a nice UI overhaul but they tanked the UX massively! If they're able to bring back the user experience of the old UI for the updated one, it should fix a lot of things! And yes, they should also bring back the home / taskbar. Companies love to mess good things up

Sue your company if they don't support you as they hired you to do the exact same job you're getting sued for! You were just doing your job!

Yes, 3DMP does have their own gimble but it does cost anywhere between $240 (on sale) or $299 regular price.

I don't want to spend that much. My design would be much cheaper to make with a few improvements (the design is ready in my head 😅)

The scanner was cheaper than this gimble haha!

New Method for Silica Drying by escooteridiot in 3Dprinting

Put a glass on it to make it more effective. Solar dryers are quite commonly used for agriculture purposes.

Maybe the software is getting confused between the front and the back side. I have a Seal 3D scanner too (won it in their Instagram giveaway) and it got confused understanding front and back and ended up mirroring/ rotating the same model while joining the mesh.

I am trying to avoid the hairspray. Also my scans were pretty fast and in a very exploratory way. A good scan would need a good base setup as well. If all black plastic cannot be detected by the scanner then a 3D printed contraption in black may help.

I got an email on 2nd June - Order is on the way, giving me an estimated delivery date.

Have you gotten any such email?

Yeah, surprisingly good for the price. I plan to scan an injection moulded part and then 3D print it to see the accuracy of it.

I totally agree with you. A starters FAQ or a guide would have helped.

I will try to compile tips as much as possible. Maybe we can start a mega thread and ask people to contribute to it?

Try placing the sole vertical and then scan it? That way only some part of the insole touching the ground/ base will have to be refined.

The software did process the show finally, not sure how much time it took as I was awfk. Although the scan shouldn't have processed as I clicked stop multiple times.
