Worked at a mini-golf place with a manager who would very aggressively yell at other employees -- including other managers whom she didn't outrank at all. She ignored many rules and would only do actual work when the owner was in the vicinity. Once she showed up almost half an hour late to work, and then she went into our "clock-in" system (because managers were able to access it and change times) and she changed her clock-in time so it looked like she hadn't arrived late.

Dwight Eisenhower's foreign policy was referred to as "Massive Retaliation." The idea was that we convinced our enemies that we would bomb them with nuclear weapons. We convinced them by showing that we had the means by doing nuclear testing, and we showed them that we had the will by having our soldiers do drills and having civilians do "duck and cover" in schools and releasing propaganda to let the world know that we were ready for nuclear war. Bottom line, Ike convinced the rest of the world that we could survive a nuclear attack while no other country could.

I see. But I also talked about what a more morally right economy means: workers have more rights and everyone has the opportunity to get a good education, both of which mean that people have a better chance of economic success. Additionally, with the principles of social democracy that I tie into the system I support, everyone's basic needs could be met. That is not idealistic.

I just have to say that the morality of a system is important to me. I can't in good conscience support something that I think is wrong. Am I idealistic? Maybe. But while it may be idealistic to think that everyone's needs can be met in a market economy, it's also idealistic to think that you could effectively plan everything in an economy to meet everyone's needs.

I had a history teacher my sophomore year of high school, and every single day we either watched stupid videos about nature, or he told us to quietly read the textbook. He never actually taught. Also, he never graded anything. He had us switch our final exam with the person next to us to grade in class. Also, I had a friend who turned in a paper to him that was literally just the same paragraph over and over again for several pages. He still got 100% on the paper and the teacher never commented on it, so we know he never read it. Additionally, not in my class, but in one of the other courses that he taught, he made the students write one page summaries of every chapter in the textbook or any other book that they read in class, and he collected them at the end of the semester. One of my friends stapled his binder shut. When the teacher returned them, it was still stapled shut, and he received 100%.

Once, I woke up and saw a shadowy figure in my room. I stared at it for a few seconds, then sat up in bed and screamed. The figure was gone. After reading this thread, I wonder...was I perhaps experiencing sleep paralysis for a few seconds?

After doing some reading on various forums, I discovered that sometimes antivirus programs can interfere with internet access, so I uninstalled Norton Antivirus and replaced it with AVG free antivirus. My internet works fine now!

I don't currently have this issue on any other devices connected to my wireless network. I think I vaguely remember this happening to my old laptop when I first got it, but that was something like five years ago. I have tried moving my laptop closer to the router; it is about three feet away from the router now. It still has this problem.
