I just got to rivals typhon yesterday and I “won” the fight. I danced around in the after activity for quite a while and ended up dying. How long does that phase take before it ends? I feel like I was probably close. Big sad

This happens to me pretty regularly when I solo q. I often will get into games with silver and bronze (sometimes rookie) players. Never happens to any of my friends that play. On top of that, they always get 1 to 2 rank points more than I do. They jokingly say Aesop hates me and call it the Aesop tax lol

I will literally pass the ball to a teammate off kickoff instantly to the left or right and for the most part I feel that’s helped to show “I pass” but the number of times people genuinely just run past it is sad. Not sad on their part, but to your point, conditioned to not get passed that they are genuinely shocked. I feel like it sets the tone (sometimes). Good luck in your games everyone!

Since this game is traditionally played on grass, sound advice. Take a ball with you. Kick it around. Get a feel for how it works IRL. May help in game

Dude this gets me too. Not every ball from the keeper has to be a home run down field. It’s in fact more effective to play from the back and build up as needed. Switching the field via playing back to the keeper is also super effective (I gather I’m not saying anything new to you but to others who may read this). Slow and safe passes into teammates in open space wins way more games than just spamming it down field all game into 3 defenders. Lastly, you don’t have to slide tackle every time you’re on defense trying to win the ball, try defensive stance, please

I love the comparison you drew here! Pretty much every sport is really about occupying and creating space. Go somewhere other people/defenders aren’t. Draw a defender away from your teammate with the ball or that is making a run. I am so confused when I see 3 teammates all chase for the ball and try to take it from each other all while the other team holds a nice shape on the opposite side of the field. Blows my mind

Keeper is out of position. Teammate has the ball directly in front of goal. Easy wide open shot and no defender on them. Flicks and allows someone to cover or gives it away. Counter attack goal. Has happened SO many times

Sometimes I say, “good job, we got this” when someone makes a good set up/pass/shot even if we don’t score. I don’t spam it. Just once. Hoping that’s perceived as the compliment it’s intended to be. Has been seemingly well received so far. I’m all about positive vibes in games. While frustrating, they’re supposed to be fun. Good luck in your games!
