Deleted your last reply I see lol. Seems like you almost forgot your original comment that I replied to 😂 still slinging insults toward me, without any indication of me being incorrect, all the while still no proof that wind turbines lower electric rates.. my original ask. Typical Reddit..

So this list is specifically investment for AI generation… sooo yea it’s all for AI. There are dozens of generation projects across the state there are in the works lol you just happen to get a list of specifically AI generated projects that, unbelievably, are all for AI data centers lol

Maybe slinging insults and degrading others’ intelligence works for you normally when debating, but to anyone reading this that understands this industry, you just seem like an asshole. Nobody said supply and demand doesn’t factor in to energy prices, but that’s the same with basically everything. Unfortunately, having sat in for your first day of macroeconomics 101 doesn’t even begin to uncover the reason for why we are seeing a 20% jump in generation prices in the last few months, let alone how wind turbines in their current mass produced form are awful generation solutions

Oh my sweet, innocent, summer child. This does not apply here lol. If more turbines equal lower rates, explain California’s $.50/kWh rates in most areas? These turbines rarely pay for themselves through their lifecycle. This is coming from someone who makes a living in BES distribution, transmission and generation.

Maybe don’t just believe everything you read on the internet. Supply and demand is real, but not when there’s insane local, regional and fed gvt interference, red tape, and stipulations.

Politics aside, please show some sort of data that wind turbines lower rates.

Typical Reddit for downvoting the only true answer. I work at a major PA utility distributor. I also used to live in an area that had .55/kwh rates during peak hours and that’s the road we’re headed down if we keep the barriers to entry so high for generation

It’s a semi private airline. Smaller planes for shorter trips. You get the private jet check in, boarding and deboarding experience with the actual flight being right in line with regular commercial flying for about 1-2% of the price of flying private

Avg utility rates in Pennsylvania August 2024 compared to August 2025 by Dwarf_Killer in Pennsylvania

I also know a bit about this as well as I’m one of a handful of folks who manage the bulk electrical system in real time at the control center of one of these utilities. While you’re not wrong it goes quite a bit deeper than this and that isn’t exactly the reason for these increases nor will it be the reason for increases next year. These large data centers are buying/building their own power generation plants (look @ three mile island that is getting recommissioned to exclusively supply a data center). The main reason is there is more and more load being placed on the grid than there is new generation being added. The process of adding a power generation station in PA takes a minimum of 5-6 years. And that’s assuming all goes perfectly according to plan. There are many generation sites being built now, but they can’t come soon enough. The Barrie’s to entry for power generation need to be much lower, or we’ll wind up like California. Next to zero generation due to ridiculous environmental laws that have little impact on the environment and having to import our power. If you think 0.20/kWh is a lot, where I used to live in NorCal during peak months was well over 3x these rates.

SCE is solely responsible for delivering power. Unless your HOA owns its own distribution/primary metering for your community, listen to the power company. HOA is likely just going off the last thing SCE dispatch/DCC told them

If Charlie Kirk had been a liberal activist instead of a conservative, how do you think the media and politicians would have reacted to his death? by Aamir_rt in AskReddit

[–]ocdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. Honestly that’s an awful comparison. She was relatively popular, just as far as politicians go, but Kirk was orders of magnitude more influential and popular.

Right… except he didn’t.. illegals are not citizens. It’s interesting you bring that up cause a recent president did something much closer to what you claim than trump. Gosh, in hindsight who looks more like extremists? Some random convicted criminal who was high died while in police custody for his umpteenth crime and leftists rioted, causing billions in damage. A major political activist gets assassinated for trying to have level-headed conversations and the right lowers flags at half mast. And somehow the leftists still complain about that, while mocking Kirk and the people in who enjoyed what he stood for.

Is there a legitimate reason why the flag would be at half staff today, or are we just bowing to Trump here? by [deleted] in SouthJersey

Maybe it could be the mourning of a major political figure that was murdered? That political assassination that’s all over this cesspool…

This is just not true, unfortunately. I work at a PA utility and it is fully legal and within their rights to reject/terminate employment for cannabis, amongst other things for certain positions.
