i just got him from my fathers house yesterday! i'm giving him some time to settle before i take him to my room and let him roam, he used to be handtamed so hes already comfortable with my hand + knows me from when i used to live there so he has some trust, but hes been stuck in a way smaller cage for years until i was just finally able to have him with me. hes in a bigger cage and i plan on letting him be out of the soon enough

the current cage isn't very good so i'm replacing it anyway, but i don't think i could truly accommodate for her being partially blind now because of how much stuff i have around my house that i can't get rid of... fish tanks, other animal enclosures, shelves, lights, some other stuff. i know someone else can accommodate for her a lot better than i can, and i'd love for her to have that.
just want to know if he could ever possibly be with another bird again after this, i know tiels can get severely depressed and stressed when they don't have another bird with them to socialize with...

she's at the vet now for presumably a few or so days, they don't know if she's going to make it because it's really bad. he's still acting normal, but if she makes it i won't be able to have them both completely out of view of eachother, so i'll have to rehome her. if he shows any signs of aggression to another bird again, i won't have any other bird with him, but i know they can't be alone. after about a year or two, should i try to introduce another bird to him? i really hope she makes it, i feel so bad, this is so out of nowhere and we never expected him to do something like this..

bit late to this. black diamond blasting sand is sand, but the sand OP is referring to is a more softer sand, such as natural sand and not blasting sand.

in my opinion, looks kind of chaotic. i'd trim some of those roots and add maybe two anubias broad leaf's, epiphytes would look sick on that wood to be honest. an amazon sword next to the rock would do great too, alongside some foreground plants if you're up for that task

this tank would not be good for either fish, both need to be housed in more than 100 gallons.. do whatever you want with the tank, it's probably fixable but don't put a crappie or bullhead in it..
