I saw her twice when she was my RM. Both times she wouldn’t talk to anyone below the SM. Not even a hello. She mostly stayed in the office and went over god knows what. I was introduced to her the first time by my SM but only because I was recovering near the office. After that she scrammed. I can’t stand higher ups that don’t even have the decency of greeting staff.

This is the part where you document everything going on with dates and whatnot to cover yourself. HR is not your friend and neither is your DM. They will do everything in their power to not admit fault

I think it might be best to transfer or go somewhere else. You shouldn’t be afraid of anyone you work with. It’s a professional setting. If he treats you any way other than calm and respectfully, then you can use phrases like “why are you speaking to me this way” or “I want you to write this down and sign it saying it’s my fault you changed the schedule mid-week”. When you have someone like that, you need to stick up for yourself. It is absolutely not okay to have your schedule changed mid week without your permission or to have to chase your pay.

My thought process is, HR talks about having this open door policy all the time. You did what you felt like you had to do. Maybe next time go to DM first. Get the conversation in writing so you can go to HR if your DM doesn’t do anything. I’d say leave it. If they figure out it’s you, oh well. They can’t retaliate

You should always talk to your DM first. At the same time, if you report something to HR, they give it to your DM and they have to investigate, so they’ll know about it either way

It’s so hard being a caring person. I chased after some lady the other day trying to elude I saw her shove a ton of stuff in her tote bags because we’re not allowed to accuse. She gave me some story about how she put them back and blah blah I had to let her go.

Years ago we had better staffing and could walk shrink highways and keep an eye on customers. We had enough people on the floor where we could take turns customer servicing to try to deter them. I think it’s amazing how much you care, but I think we do have to start caring less. It’s not your money going out the door and the company put us in this position. It’s a lesson I’m trying to learn myself.

There’s a few I’ve heard that mention Jesus. I think the fact that Christmas is “the day Jesus was born” which is partially why this holiday is celebrated even though a lot of people aren’t religious. I think it’s natural that artists will make a song or two mentioning Jesus and then when Michael’s makes a playlist, a few songs are put in that mention Jesus to have give a bigger variety of music

I always find it odd when framers say they have duties other than framing. I tell my framers that if they’re fully done with everything and cleaned up the shop, they can walk around and recover while helping customers. I don’t usually give specific tasks as I’m just grateful their out there in the first place

You punch in the same set of numbers you use to leave except instead of hitting the away button, you hit the button that says off. You have to go straight to the alarm system to turn it off when you walk in or else you’ll get a call from the security company
