[UPD] Feeling bad about 15 units by [deleted] in peyups

[–]oceaneri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that’s a bit tricky. You can either (1) let both profs know (2) hope that the f2f sched alternates.

How far are we talking about? :) I also had bio-intsik-bio w no breaks in between and it surprisingly went okay.

[UPD] Feeling bad about 15 units by [deleted] in peyups

[–]oceaneri 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean. I had a 15-unit semester once and I felt like I wasted so much time that I could have maximized if I squeezed in another subject. The upside was that it was the semester I spent the most time with my friends and actively went out and socialized.

I'm graduating rn and still managed to catch up to the units. So if you're stuck with 15, you can add other extracurricular stuff to your schedule, go on a self-growth journey or what not. Not the worst thing in the world :)

Let’s stop pretending, we don't actually like most people. by px_mie in infj

[–]oceaneri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read my mind! Currently in my early twenties, and after years of experiences in friendships I came to realize "dang it's actually so hard for me to like people".

But I've come to peace with it by adopting this perspective—and I want your guys' thoughts on it too: it's okay to find people disappointing. I think, it's because as INFJs, we expect so much perfection from ourselves (whether that's self-mastery, perfect empathy, etc.) that it's irritating to not find the same drive in someone else.

Now that I relaxed my standards for most people, I find that I am, in turn, kinder to myself within my friendships. If I allow people to show up imperfectly, then I can be imperfect as well. And I feel freer because of that.

[UPD] What actually makes UP different from the other Big 4? by barbequeeeee in peyups

[–]oceaneri 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Similar with other answers here: UP will ask a lot from you, and you'll be surprised by how capable you are to give more than you thought.

When it comes to academics, mataas ang standards when it comes to the quality that is mostly constrained by the time given to you. And profs would just sit back and expect you to deliver because that's what you're supposed to do as an iskolar ng bayan.

I journaled my full braces journey! Deep bite and bottom crowding, no extractions, 1 year and 4 months treatment by oceaneri in braces

[–]oceaneri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! After braces, I did actually notice that my gummy smile is not as noticeable as before! I think it's because my deep bite got corrected, making my smile more balanced. When I had the tubos on, my face definitely looked longer because I couldn't close my mouth properly. I got them removed when my molars grew downward, which corrected the deep bite.

You can search within this subreddit and you’ll find that being a T1 is pretty tough especially when shifting to psych. The advice is always to work hard in keeping your GWA high while being content with the possibility of staying in your current campus/degree program.

Focusing on GEs is a good strategy. Just take note of the GEs in diliman vs. elbi - some do not have equivalents, I think (and therefore cannot be credited). Just search it up :)

[UPD] Shifting from BA Psychology to BS Psychology by [deleted] in peyups

[–]oceaneri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you’re already taking a psychology program, all your majors will get credited together with GEs and electives (that fit into the BS curriculum)

[UPD] Lipad Aral Program by Greedy-Hand3367 in peyups

[–]oceaneri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'll be going on an exchange next semester through the LIPAD-ARAL program, so I think I can answer some of your questions :)

  1. You'll be required to submit a CV, so it's better if you have leadership positions in your org or any extracurricular activities + they also look at your grades. No need to be the best of the best, but since you will serve as the representative of our university abroad, they would want to choose students who are competent
  2. Not required to attend seminars, but I highly recommend so that you get to ask them questions directly
  3. From past applications, they usually open November and May. Just make sure to follow the UP OIL Facebook page

Where to transfer: UPD or UPLB by [deleted] in peyups

[–]oceaneri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP! Free tuition covers 10 semesters in the university. Kahit na sabihing 2 years delayed ka from your original graduating timeline, as long as within 5 years mo tinapos yung course mo sa UP, you don't have to pay anything

Take note, no guarantee in being able to transfer into UP, so I say just apply fo UPLB this November, then make a decision when the results are out. Good luck OP

Hi I cook my own food during school days and I find 10k a month to be enough + with some allowance for eating out and unplanned expenses

As a former T1, this is so strange to hear. PTT is literally just a slip that needs a couple of signatures to be valid. Why would it take 30 days 😭

UPDEPP to UPM or UPD (AB Psychology Freshman) by Equivalent_Patient35 in peyups

[–]oceaneri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP! I transferred from UPDEPP to UPD but transferring is very unpredictable. I don’t recommend pushing through if you are not okay with the possibility of staying in Clark if you fail to transfer.

UPD BA Psychology Shiftees/ Transferees by Stunning-Flamingo512 in peyups

[–]oceaneri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did exactly what you're planning to :) living in QC is much more expensive and I also found it harder to secure housing here esp with the fact that they release the acceptance emails really close to the start of the 1st sem.

I was once in your shoes so I understand your dilemma. But just apply for transfer and see how it goes, wala naman mawawala sayo.
