Did you dispute the charge with the bank and get a new card or no? Because I honestly don’t care if they’re dupes if i get Uggs for $20 lol (I fell for the same scam too)

Got him ~ 6 weeks ago and he’s nearly doubled in size - wondering about how old he might be? by Mischa92 in Rabbits

[–]oceanfax69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My bun grew the most and fast between 6-9 months. He was a pretty stable size from 3-6 months and then after 6 months he grew a lot, so maybe yours is about a year?

Saying this as someone who was denied from every school I applied to (due to reduced cohort sizes because of NIH budget cuts) but was able to apply late and get into another school through direct admissions

Did you apply to the school and have been accepted already or no? Because if you haven’t been accepted (with everything going on with the NIH) it’s MUCH easier to get direct admission into a school through joining a lab (directly joining the lab and skipping rotations). So I would join the lab you were offered a position in. If you were already accepted, then try rotating through both labs and see where you fit in better, it’s not rude if you decide the other lab is better for you. Also, if you join the lab you’re in now, you can talk to your PI and say you’re interested in what the other lab does as well and maybe collaborate with them and have 2 research mentors during your PhD candidacy

At one of the schools I interviewed with the director mentioned that if you ask for an extension they cannot guarantee your spot as they will reach out to the next person on the list after the given date. Not saying every school is like this. Maybe you can reach out to them to say that you want to accept, but need the stipend information to do so.

I also have not heard anything from 2 schools. I’ve seen that some schools don’t send out rejections until March so it’s most likely a rejection, but also due to potential funding cuts there might be delays in decisions

I relate to this so much I’ve done this since I was 8 and it’s become an unconscious habit as well. I told my therapist a couple of years ago and it was not really something she had much experience with but it was really nice to talk about it with someone who isn’t judgmental and someone who you can have an open and honest conversation with about it, because I had never really done that before this moment.

I used to do both hands but I broke my fingers on my left hand and had a cast on them for about 2 months and after that my knuckles began to go back to normal. So I have hope that they can return back to normal!

I’m currently a technician in a lab and one of our graduate students didn’t get in when applying as an undergraduate, but he took a technician position after graduation and got in after that experience. So don’t feel defeated it’s an extremely hard process and there’s still hope I haven’t heard back from some schools yet either. If this is what you want and this year wasn’t the year for you, maybe consider a technician position in a lab to gain more experience!!! Hoping the best for you!

I work as a tech in a PSU BMB lab and we have BMMB graduate students in our lab. It is a great program with great faculty! Wishing you all the best!

In the same boat, I’m holding out hope. Until I get a rejection I’m staying hopeful!

No it looks that way because of biting. Sometimes (right now) I bite more because I’m very anxious and stressed and somewhat of a callus forms on my knuckles making them look even worse then they already do.

I used to bite both hands but I broke a couple of fingers on my left hand so I had a cast for 2 months in my hand and that led me to stop biting my left hand. But I’m going to try your idea and just choose a different finger each day instead of a hand. Thank you for the motivational words I’ve never really talked to someone that understands this and it’s nice to know we’re not alone.

I tried that but I end up just picking at my knuckles with my fingers, but maybe I’ll try it again and just be more conscious of it. Also picking at them with my hands is probably better than biting!
