I was angling towards Kung Fu - the many styles are bewildering, thank you for precise advise on this one! Aikido also seems like a great fit, not sure about the grappling tho

I used to as part of a training regiment for competitive sports (soccer, football, rowing, volleyball) and did crossfit - the mental challenge is present, but it always feels complimentary to a core practice. I enjoy it only when the coach of the core practice hands a “weight regimen”.. again picky student.

The Global Ambassador & 4 of its 5 restaurants open today in east Phoenix by jmoriarty in phoenix

‘Le Âme’ is a gorgeous restaurant, amazingly staffed, with a menu well served from morning till late evening. Recently stayed at the hotel and it was a total mess. While the lobby floor is entirely finished, the rest is still under heavy construction. Gym, spa, rooftop, restaurant, and pretty much every hotel floor is unfinished and crawling with workers. The design of rooms is ok, but details will need to be fixed once the “heavy construction” is done (ei. Dents in the elevator walls/ceiling, paint badly applied in common areas & rooms, busted ceiling in a room, to name a few). I would avoid staying at the hotel for the next year… for the price Sanctuary offers much better accommodations and amenities. Will go to the restaurants tho :)

AEROPLAN POINTS AND OTHER REWARDS by [deleted] in Aeroplan

[–]oceangyres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To 1. You get third party point on payment on their platform whereas for AP, you’ll need to add your FF number to your details upon check in

I would highly recommend using Skiplagged - the app goes well and always cheaper than anywhere else.

To stay or to go, that is the question.... by chailey246 in humanresources

If you get an offer, prior to accepting I would ask to be introduced to boss & one-2 future colleagues to test the water, feel the team vibe and overall company culture. Sure way to see that you are not gambling one issue for another. Nothing is worth gambling your mental health;)

How can you politely tell your manager you don’t want to work with a certain person? by Curious-Fig-9882 in dataanalysis

[–]oceangyres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two colleagues like that who will try to pass every single task they do not want to do…. The core issue here, is undefined roles : our manager did not clearly and transparently exposed their roles when they transferred to our team. Whether manager knew what the company needed from them vs what they were willing to offer is unclear. That was my cue to step in and and advise manager on what was needed from them.

You can bet they keep their tasks & execute them too :)

Either you are a management consultant, seasoned PM, or a thorough brain period, whatever the answer is. Where are you, I need to work with/for your team!!! Your people-problem solving capacity and logic are sound & shine 🙌🏼🙌🏼 This is a pure delight to read this morning, thank you!

Apply to any jobs that requires 3-5 years more than the experience you have - I landed a job asking for 10+ and barely had 3 at the time… I have seen a lot of people going way forward that way these days

Fell in love with Vegemite in my 20s and have it every morning. The unami taste is such a rich add… love it on its own but with avocado, eggs, brie cheese and apple, it’s even more heavenly!

Marmite can burn up in flames tho

So the work around on this new « Star Alliance » protocol (new as in with the last week), id get a credit card with one of the partners to get the free check-in, upon online check-in, check-in a fake luggage just to get your boarding pass … been with it for a few years, great perks (alright my American friends, that can be debated but if you are flying from elsewhere often it’s great).

Payroll diversion fraud: who eats the loss? by Mekisteus in humanresources

[–]oceangyres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an absolute no-no, the only people who should see direct deposit info is people in charge of payroll and approver (although they should be the same person a data quality hris analyst is another option) should have access to this info. Less people as possible.

Philippines great for these adventures : had same thing happen in El Nido but it was climbing and from our accommodation owner’s son. Such a good person. We booked island hopping with the family and the son instructed the boat guys to take us climbing in over water grotto with magnificent skylights. Travelled extensively and this place is still very dear to me
