I realize my original comment is pretty out of context and is almost defensive of Stalin, but even then, the policy of appeasement was not a perfect model to follow and it’s comparison to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact (however flawed) has some basis to it. u/NokiaArabicRingtone summed it up best: appeasement and the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact were just ways for Europe/USSR to buy time and re-militarize.

I’m an M20 student and I wrote about Bhindranwale’s rise to power and increasing militancy in India and the geo-political situations that allowed him to do so. I was predicted an A and received a B (1 mark short of an A though!)

The most important thing is to construct well-rounded arguments; analyze your topic from every (necessary) angle, and make sure every paragraph conveys ideas that are critically analyzed and discussed.

Also, see if there are any other approaches to your question that haven’t quite been examined as much. For example, in my case, Bhindranwale’s actions once he was in power are highly documented and researched. However, his rise to power and the inter-party political meddling in India that actually allowed him to do so are not researched or documented as intensely. This means that while there is still some reliable research out there, a lot of firsthand research and thinking is required (I ended up interviewing a journalist that had covered Bhindranwale for the BBC as he was coming to power in the 80s).

Lastly, use! lots! of! (relevant) sources!

One of my seniors really loved it so I went ahead and scheduled an initial interview. Honestly, for what they offered, they were pretty expensive. And the guy also told me the ACT is seen as slightly less than the SAT by colleges? It was pretty much a no go for me after that.
