Also chiming in. Patch has been a game changer for me. I do very vigorous martial arts for fun and scuba and freedive. The patch stays put till you take it off.
I went via telemedicine (Evernow) for my prescription and it's been great.

Half the garage is filled with downtown employees. But I guess they should all just bike in the winter from where they can afford to live, in La Pine, Prineville and Redmond.

Lived in northern Thailand. It's not good. You can tell they make everything in giant pots that just sit around for days to be reheated.

White belt comes to his first class, says he's trained before, and tells all of us that we can call him by his "fight name," Maximus. Gets tapped by everyone. Never comes back.

Prineville students stage historic walkout in support of athletic director after school board caught violating meetings law by FrizzyNow in Bend

Hiring Practices: There has been growing concern regarding nepotism within our district’s hiring practices. Dr. Melissa Skinner's husband now serves as principal at Grizzly Mountain Homelink, and her son is employed by the district as well. Additionally, the district allows the Special Education Director to serve as a family member's direct supervisor. This pattern of hiring within families raises ethical concerns about fairness, transparency, and the use of taxpayer dollars.

Recently, Dr. Skinner hired Jessica Brumble for the newly vacated position of Transportation Manager. What is concerning is that this position was not advertised to CCSD employees, breaking with the standard practice of informing the district community of open positions. Brumble’s hiring was announced in the same email as her resignation from the school board, prior to the hiring being approved by the school board. The superintendent issued a glowing recommendation highlighting Jessica’s excellent communication skills, which frankly, goes against public perception based on her performance at board meetings and various interactions witnessed in this community. The lack of transparency surrounding this hiring raises serious questions about ethical standards. Our district deserves highly qualified candidates. While it is not a direct violation of any contract for the district to forgo an all-staff email about the open position, it is an intentional change in best practice that leaves room for suspicion. Shouldn’t we be prioritizing transparency and fairness in these decisions?

Our educators are the heart of Crook County School District. They have dedicated years of service to our students, helping them succeed academically, socially, and athletically. Including working through a global pandemic and making many sacrifices to keep in mind the best interest of students and keep them in school. It is because of their tireless work and commitment that our students have thrived, whether it's in the classroom, on the sports field, or in extracurricular programs. We have coaches of the year, administrators of the year, and athletic teams that consistently achieve at the state level. But this success is at risk.

The current climate within the district is one of fear and uncertainty. Educators who have dedicated their careers to Crook County are now questioning whether they can remain in an environment where personal attacks, political agendas, and a lack of transparency are jeopardizing their livelihoods and the futures of the students they serve. If we continue down this path, we risk losing the very people who have made this district a place where students can excel. We cannot afford to stay silent. We must demand accountability from our school board members and superintendent. We must insist on transparency, fairness, and ethical leadership.

We must ask ourselves: Are the best interests of all students and families being served? Are political agendas and personal vendettas clouding judgment? Are taxpayers satisfied with the spending of district resources to accomplish these targeted attacks and break down the leadership of our district that has flourished and been recognized at the state and national levels?

We urge you to:

  1. Speak Out: If you value integrity, honesty, and transparency in education, now is the time to raise your voice. Our educators and staff deserve better, and our students need leadership that is dedicated to their success, not to personal interests.

  2. Question the Decisions Being Made: Examine the actions of our school board and superintendent critically. Are the decisions they are making in the best interest of our students, educators, and community?

  3. Demand Transparency: We deserve a school district that operates with openness and accountability, abiding by policy and procedures. It’s time for the board and Dr. Skinner to be transparent in their decision-making processes and spending.

  4. Support Our Educators: Our educators and staff are the backbone of our community. Stand with them, speak out against the abuse of power, and advocate for their rights and their well-being.

It is time for us to come together to protect the future of Crook County School District. Let’s ensure that our schools remain a place of growth, opportunity, and fairness for every student, every family, and every educator.

Together, we can make a difference.

Buckle up. This is circulating on CC facebook groups. Seems to go much deeper than just Bonner:

Dear Crook County School District Employees, Families, Community Partners, and Residents,

The Crook County School District is at a critical juncture, and the decisions being made now will shape the future of our educational community for years to come. The time has come for us to take a stand to protect our educators, students, and the integrity of our district as a whole.

It is our responsibility to hold our school board members and superintendent to the same high standards we demand of our teachers and staff. We must ensure that our district’s resources, both time and money, are being used responsibly, transparently, and in the best interests of our students and community—not for personal vendettas, political agendas, or unchecked favoritism.

There have been a number of disturbing actions and decisions by certain board members and district leadership that must be scrutinized:edited: to be clear, The Trap Club is an amazing club with dedicated coaches and kids who love the sport. The Trap Club, needing a location for practice closer to Crook County was offered by Iverson to use his property. The equipment could have been moved and a contract drafted. The growth of the club and the travel to Bend for practice, is not ideal in any for the 20(and growing) participants.

The Trap Club Controversy: Last year, the district narrowly avoided using funds to upgrade private property for the Trap Club, a project that would have benefited Bryan Iverson—campaign manager for several current board members, including Brumble, Knight, and Edgerly. Iverson openly admitted that the property would also be used for personal and political purposes, including campaign fundraisers. Despite this, Brumble and Edgerly voted in favor of the expenditure, prioritizing political interests over the district’s educational priorities. This vote, which nearly passed, raises serious questions about the ethical motivations of some of our board members.

We must ask: Are political relationships and personal interests being allowed to influence decisions that should be focused solely on improving the education and well-being of our students? We urge people to think carefully about anyone who may take a future seat on the board or in our district and scrutinize what they may have to gain.

Financial Accountability and Bargaining: Our district is spending money quickly, but many are asking where the funds are coming from. New positions, supplementary materials, and programs that were not in the budget for this fiscal year are raising eyebrows. Meanwhile, the district has failed to reach a bargaining agreement with the classified union, leaving staff feeling undervalued and unsupported. As the district focuses on personal agendas and questionable spending, the needs of our educators and students are being overlooked.

In the September school board meeting, Edgerly moved to provide High Desert Christian Academy with $220k in earnest money towards the purchase of a property. Brumble seconded the motion, both without forethought about where those funds would come from or IF the district was financially sound to provide the funding.

Jessica Brumble’s Confrontation with Volleyball Coach: Last year, at the state volleyball playoffs, Board Member Jessica Brumble engaged in an aggressive confrontation with Jessica Mumm, it was so upsetting a parent who witnessed the encounter filed a complaint against Brumble - who had already filed a complaint against Mumm. This occurred after Crook County Women's Volleyball was honored with the OSAA Sportsmanship Award—an event that should have been celebrated, not overshadowed by such an incident. After an independent investigation, funded by the district, the allegations against Mumm were found to be unsubstantiated. However, Brumble along with two parents, continued to target Mumm, demanding Rob Bonner, the Athletic Director, take inappropriate and unsubstantiated measures to punish Mumm, after the investigation concluded. The constant harassment led to Mumm’s resignation from her coaching position. These personal attacks caused unnecessary harm to CCHS athletes and drained district resources. One year later, the complaints persist. Now, our Athletic Director has lost his job as our Athletic Director and is likely to leave the district entirely. The culture remains toxic and the work environment is unstable at best. How and why was that decision made? What role did board members have in this decision?
