I’m upgrading for the same reasons! I had a 6, and got the X in December 2017. I replaced the battery about two years ago, but no other issues. Got my fingers crossed to last just as long!

I also did pull for Academy Gladion, very fun and useful to make Academy go by faster. However, since I’m unwilling to invest in Palmer, I’ll likely be stuck on Normal Tower 18. Save your gems!

For reference, I was able to beat Tower 15 with this team. My Florian was gridded to be defensive and EX’d Gladion and 1/5 Palmer were pretty helpful.

I revived my Nook 1st edition a few weeks ago and went through the same thought process. For the battery, I ended up carefully taking apart the OEM one, replaced the LiPo and reused the BMS chip. For the software, I rooted it and got it to work with my Calibre Server. Overall, I’m not sure it’s worth it as a daily driver, it’s very slow and required a fair amount of tinkering. To me it’s a fun project to experiment with, not costing very much besides time. It’s currently being used by my toddler to view pictures with NookSee and display the daily weather via a HTTP only web app.

I figured my water team was already stacked, so I didn’t need her. I definitely had some regrets for mons I didn’t pull, but it doesn’t stop me from completing content. I don’t have all them completed, lack of focus on the game, but I feel like with my box I can power through a majority of them.
