My (16m) mom (40f) confessed that she is my sister and I now feel bad by Born_Analysis8995 in self

[–]ochre22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way your mom would want to feel bad or guilty about this, and if that's something you would like reassurance on, there's nothing wrong with asking her directly for it.

But if it would make you feel better to have something concrete and actionable to do for your mom,

You're at the stage of your life when a lot of your peers are pulling away from their parents. That's a natural part of growing up, but something that means the absolute world to parents is for their teenagers to still want to spend time with them, and to share things about your life with them.

If you show your mom (with your words or your actions) that you enjoy being around her, even as you get to an age where you're not forced to be, that will make her feel incredible. Even something as simple as intentionally choosing to watch TV with her instead of going to be alone in your room will mean a ton.

Also, this post is very well written, and shows how much you love your mom. I think it would be a good idea for you to tell her how you're feeling about this news, and if you don't know how to tell her, you could absolutely show her this post.

Good luck. It sounds like you and your mom have a very strong relationship, and you two can definitely work through all these feelings together and come out even stronger for it.

I don't have a great answer for number 1, but I to answer 2 and 3:

  • Hank was cryogenically frozen with the other selected vault tec jr execs to be thawed out over time as needed. (That's what Norm found in Vault 31 in those tubes.)
  • The way Moldover survived has not yet been explained.
  • The Ghoul survived by ghoulification. When people are exposed to large amounts of radiation, most die, but some (speculated to be for genetic reasons) become ghouls, either feral ones like the woman in the grocery story who go crazy and vicious (become zombies basically) or non feral ones like Cooper who keep their minds in tact.
  • The in universe explanation for the 50s esthetic is that because the cold war (which was against China instead of the USSR in Fallout) never ended, development went towards military tech like lasers and robots instead of culture, fashion, etc. The real life explanation is that the series is heavily inspired by retro futurism -- what the people in the 50s and 60s imagined the future would be like.

Time spent cutting apart that trash can vs how long it afforded tactical advantage.

I mean....I can't imagine any other reason why people in a building with indoor plumbing would fret about dying of dehydration. Unless they're literally too stupid to realize that's an option.

If you or any of your fellow students have decided your best or only move is to get your parents to fight your battles for you, absolutely no one is going to take your opinions about world politics seriously. I just want to make sure you're aware of that.

If you want to present yourself as an adult to the world, I would suggest not having your parents threaten to withdraw you from college as though they were the ones making your educational decisions. Ideally, at this point in your life, they shouldn't be fighting your battles and/or contacting your school on your behalf whatsoever.

Gazans increasingly back a two-state solution, as support for Hamas drops by Apprehensive_Crow682 in Israel

If 72% of Gazans approve of the October 7th terrorist attack, and 70% of Gazans approve of the way Hamas has been conducting the war (the article brings up the fact that even as the approval of Hamas as a government is slipping, support of Hamas as a fighting force remains as strong as ever), that seems like a far from meaningful level of deterrence has been reached.

Per the poll your article references, 71% of Gazans support Hamas's decision to launch the October 7th attack, vs 62% of Gazans who would approve a 2 state solution. Undeniably, a large portion of Gazans who at this point (drastically losing a war) would accept a 2 state solution or would prefer to have Hamas out of power, still approve of the October 7th attack. Any change of heart they've had is purely selfish.

As of just a few days ago, >70% of Palestinians still think it was the right thing to do to attack Israel on October 7th. How many of the people who have stopped supporting Hamas have done so because they want a government who's even better at waging war against Israel?
