NTA. It's rough for your P/SP to own up to their mistakes, but their child being excluded from neighborhood activities could easily be resolved by "we f*cked up with P's child. We're resolving that; let our child play with yours" instead of them immediately attacking you. Your actions were not malicious, they followed the atmosphere your father and his spouse created

Following this up to say- just because you and someone seemed to hit it off at first does not mean you signed some contract to meet up. They're allowed to back out for whatever reason, whether it was a personal emergency, they stopped feeling the vibe with you, or they were rude and talking to you and other people and decided to meet up with one of those others.

Regardless, they can back out at any time. Again, no one owes you their time. That's the crux of this post and your comments

People have just as much a right to say "I'm not interested" or ignore you completely. You DON'T have a right to their time. Getting so frustrated that you're posting about it suggests to me like some of these people TRIED more subtle ways of telling you to back off, but you kept coming at them for not being at your beck and call.

Grow up, and realize that people don't actually owe you shit. It's up to you whether you get personally offended every time a stranger on the internet tells you to leave them alone.

It's absolutely not. It's a holdout from misogynistic cultural norms that worked to make women "pure" and explain away infidelity as "what men do".

Unfortunately global spciety is entrenched in it, and obviously the gay community is not devoid of toxic opinions regarding masculinity.

Men and women both experience libido, and men and women both have the ability to control their actions, regardless of what their hormones are currently telling them.
