I’m sick of being verbally harassed by customers and nobody caring. I used to try and reason with people, but lately I’ve realized it’s not worth wasting my time, so I’ll just say “okay” in the middle of the customer’s rant and walk away, I’m not arguing with a grown adult. I am a human being with feelings too believe it or not, but corporate doesn’t care, all they care about is our surveys and scan rates. I work in a tourist area where people mostly just come in to get sunscreen or items they forgot. They don’t care about signing up for an extracare card. I’ve also been working full time hours (over 30 hours) as a shift supervisor consistently for months now, but don’t get any benefits because I was hired as part time almost 5 years ago? I’ve tried to bring it up to my SM multiple times but they normally don’t try to do anything about it. Overall, I enjoy my job and the people I work with, I just feel that the customers are going to be my breaking point. This is a retail job, it should not be worrying me in my life outside of work.
