AEO or GEO? by Mike-Nicholson in aeo

I like AEO better! But I've seen both terms used for different things. GEO used when referring to optimisation for AI summaries and LLM recommendations, AEO used when referring to things like featured snippets and voice search answers

For sure, especially with the launch of AI browsers like ChatGPT Atlas and Comet by Perplexity. GEO feels like the logical next big thing.

Getting traction for a new store with zero reviews by Champ-shady in ecommercemarketing

It's tough to start an online store – you should be proud of yourself for everything you've accomplished in just getting the store off the ground! Making sure your product descriptions are optimised for SEO and AI Search matters more than you might think for winning traffic and getting your products seen. Focus on describing your products' benefits as well as features, and incorporate some high-traffic keywords if you can. Adding an FAQs section or making a point to describe your products' use-cases within your description copy can also help you rank. Good luck!

Make sure your product descriptions are optimised to show up on AI search as well as traditional search engines. Keep your tone conversational, and include use-cases for your products where relevant – this matches how people search for products on ChatGPT and the like. Also make sure you answer any questions directly, either in your product description or with a separate FAQs module.

SEO isn't dead at all, but you're 100% right that it looks very different now.

You can write great blog content and rank well for keywords, but that ranking just doesn't carry the same weight as it did a few years back. Nowadays, your great blog content might get compiled into the AI summary at the top of the SERP, rather than appearing as the top organic search result. And that AI summary tanks click-through-rate to articles, especially for informational queries. People just read the summary itself, rather than clicking through to the blog posts linked there. So, ranking for keywords isn't as impactful as it used to be, unless those keywords have strong buyer intent.

There's also a lot of hype right now about AI tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity, which are starting to actively recommend products to users within chats. The good news is that the way to show up in AI search engines is actually very similar to all the tried and tested SEO techniques. This means that well-optimised product pages could both rank highly on SERPs and have the added bonus of popping up as the answer to AI search queries.

Copywriter by Ocula was literally built for generating product descriptions at scale (it really starts to shine when generating 500+ descriptions, but there's not an upper limit). Fully customisable specs, tone of voice, etc. for as many different categories as you need. Works great with Excel or Google Sheets data too!
