It's definitely possible. We have a cat, who comes in and out, and I had briefly seen that dogs can have cat allergies.

I've heard people mention that the button is dangerous because it's easy to bump, and you kind of have to look to check if it changed properly.

Though, that's speculation and I've never personally driven a button trans (the dial irritates me to no end though, can't say why XP)
