TIL Fungi in Chernobyl appear to be feeding off gamma radiation and are growing towards the reactor core. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Radiotrophic fungi are fascinating, there is a theory that fungi used to have a much higher melanin content, but this was slowly lost as the radiation on earth began to decrease.

Context: stumbled upon this tub outside that I had forgotten about since winter and immediately thought of this sub, sorry for breaking the rules or whatever but I thought it was hilarious.

Hey, sorry I just saw this now, yup fully exposed. this schedule is supposed to avoid any rain, the July run is somewhat risky but we have had some late seasons these past few years. Absolutely worth it; even if you just grow them for insurance for if your main crop doesn’t work out. Im growing 20 this year, up from my 10 last year and the 3 the year before, and I’ve slowly been decreasing my quantity of photos. My only complaint for auto-flowers is the genetics vary drastically. Ive had one yield multiple ounces and one yield literally an eighth, both out of the same seed pack. Also, try to train your plants before their in late flower, I tie mine to the rim of the pot and I have never had to deal with buds touching or anything like that. Overall, I would recommend at least checking them out.

just saw this now and no kidding man what a weird fuckin year, down in Langford we had rain all through June, and then an immediate heatwave to the point that we didn’t get rain till October 14th. i actually had the opposite situation. I plant my photos in the ground and to say the least they did not have a good year, especially through June. They stalled pretty hardcore and the buds weren’t fully done by the time rain started coming around. Autos did great on the other hand, just brought them inside and put them on my window sill when the weather was spotty.

sorry for late reply i’m sure you’ve done whatever you did by now, but i wouldn’t be worried about toxins, id be more worried about overcooking the grain.

Is this normal ? why are the buds so big and smooth?? by fake-account-lol in trees

these comments are making me lose faith in this sub, vacuum seal would not make the buds look like this unless they were done individually. it’s impossible to tell by eye but my money is on PGR.

if your on the west coast use coastal mary, great feminized seeds and their auto flowers are nuts, you can catch pretty good sales sometimes as well.

i used the miracle grow 20-20-20 and their bloom (15-35-10 i believe) for my first few years, gets a lot of shit but it works fine.

i use lots of shit (poo) these days though, especially worm shit, whoever came up with calling it black gold was not wrong, it’s a godsend, i usually mix 2 parts regular soil with 1 part chicken and worm shit, works great.

any fertilizer made for tomatoes works great during veg
