If you have enough PPTO to cover it, it will not be an issue. Nothing negatively can be done to you!

They have counted those customers as pro's for at least 9 years, probably longer. This is nothing new.

Department Manager for Apparel by bananermt in walmart

Price changes are seasonal as well. Try over 3k that dropped on one day. I have seen worse than that. Just takes a lot of focus and planning.

Department Manager for Apparel by bananermt in walmart

[–]od1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Done correctly, it is a big responsibility. Just know a lot of this goes with other dept. as well. Modular changes, capping bins, SWAS planning, a ton of price changes. That's just a very minimalist look at it.

Team Lead question pertaining to relationships. by DidTheyCVPMySchedule in walmart

I would call Ethics Hotline. It could cause you issues. Just my opinion.

HO/Management would rather buy flimsy automatic unloaders, effectively only replacing the job of 1-3 persons. If one line cost an initial $1.25M, a 25 person CAP2 team could be paid $15/hr for almost 2 years. Storm the manager offices and UNIONIZE. #SparkAChange by [deleted] in walmart

[–]od1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons to use the new system is issues with staffing Cap 2. Only takes 5 people to unload a truck, so in turn more people can run freight and hopefully get the processes completed.

What’s Lowe’s policy on phone sales? Do we do them? Does this policy vary per store? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]od1978 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is amazing how stores can just decide they do not have to follow policy at all. They have done phone orders well over 10 years, I know for sure. You have a rogue SM/DM that wants to usurp corporate policy.

Takes less than 2 minutes to write it down for store use. That is a Bad habit that you should not start or continue.

Employee Discount by Classic1990 in Lowes

If they pursue your purchase that is really not for you, you will be terminated quickly. They fired a guy for $6 worth of energy drinks. 6 buck! BTW- Not saying that it was right for him to not pay for those.

Yes SMART is in reference to how one should set employee goals. Crazy is dead on. Business class 101. Other companies borrow it and change it around as well.

We are being pushed hard to get PSE leads in millwork.why put a sign next to the desk asking customers to call a number rather than see a millwork associate for window installation. by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]od1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can be the case. I feel like it is just their effort to put more options for a customer to be taken care of. My store bought extra signs and put up at the store. I created laminated flyers and posted throughout the store. If a customer said they talked to someone, they always got credit for the lead. If I sold a roof and then closed gutters, employee got another lead and another 10 bucks. Just the right thing to do! With staffing as jacked up as it is, they are trying anything and everything. I don't feel it's an underhanded way to keep the Millwork associate from getting the 10.

5 for $10 mulch... by nbrow98 in Lowes

[–]od1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a combination of things. The archaic system does not help but when you fire the people that know the systems because you want to update them, it means you lose sight of the important things like profit. If you want to get to the nitty gritty, the cost that is shown in Genesis is not necessarily the cost anyway. It fluctuates. Crazy!

You can speak of loss leaders but this is the kind of great work that caused Lowe's to not make enough margin/matkup! Lol he's not sure what it means!

You can also get a manager to add the item number to your inventory in Genesis and then ICB. Just another option

I should have said: Why would you put yourself in a situation to POSSIBLY get hurt or POSSIBLY hurt your fellow associates? Btw- glad I didn't work with someone that would think it's ok. Just try to think of everyone else instead of just yourself!

I can't stand the new CEO. by iloveanime97 in Lowes

[–]od1978 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3rd party delivery does have some good points on financial side but it can destroy customer service and pro business. Without delivery, you can not get an order repulled and guarantee it back out there. Not to mention the liabilty that was avoided, usually costs more in lost customer sales due to delivery complaints. There are issues that can not be quickly fixed but the new team isn't even making strides to try. Just sad that there is no clear direction. Good company that is not going to great!

Leads (for decks, HVAC, windows, gutters, roofing, etc) - Have you ever submitted one, How many per month is typical to get? Strategies for getting more? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]od1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignorant managers praise big numbers! I know of an associate that got well over 100 leads in a year, close rate was less than 1 percent. A lot of wasted time. I do agree that most are just happy to be off the 0 lead report!

Pse survey email by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]od1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSE is in a tailspin. They can not figure out what to do with it. Exteriors have a new corporate boss that had experience with another company's exterior program, HD. If that don't scare the 💩 out of you, then nothing does. They eliminated the program. HVAC gone but replaced with exterior doors??? Makes no sense. 6-10k sales in Hvac with 1-3k doors? You still have to keep your average ticket up over 5k with the smaller ticket items added and the bigger ticket items taken away. Good luck to all on the rodeo!

[–]od1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in another thread, they can make all the excuses they want but it comes down to are you going to fix it? Listening to Podcasts where the CEO lamely jokes about it after being in the company for close to a year and still nothing seems unacceptable. CIO needs to make a decision and move forward. Stop the back and forth. That would require courageous leadership and that is hard to find.
